#ImpactStories - Meet Matt! Matt was placed in a state facility when he was five years old. During his late thirties he was placed in an Intermediate Care Facility in the Dallas community due to his developmental disability. Thanks to the Home & Community Based Services he received, he was reunited with his mother as his caretaker, his disruptive behaviors decreased, and he actively participates in his community.

Leadership at a critical time. Thank you, Dak Prescott!

"By encouraging others to talk with health care professionals, connect with family and friends, and face the early symptoms of mental illness head on — with strength, not shame — he’s likely saved countless lives, and in so doing made “America’s Team,” and all Texans, proud."

When you’re the starting quarterback for “America’s Team,” as Dak Prescott has been for five seasons now, anxiety is part of the game. But when the 27-year-o...

"Metrocare offers Mental Health Support Line for Area Residents" Read about it in I Messenger:
Texas Metro News features Metrocare's article "Metrocare offers Mental Health Support Line for Area Residents." Read it on page 8:
This place is a joke. The employees are lazy, corrupt, and unprofessional. They have an excuse for EVERYTHING. To top it off, they have a program that pays boarding home owners $600 per month for a mentally ill person to SHARE A ROOM with other mentally ill persons. This has created a predatory system where homeowners are able to make exorbitant profits off of people that are mentally disabled. But here is the kicker: some of the people employed by Metrocare are exploiting this program and benefiting from it by housing mentally ill persons in homes owned or leased by them. Lower the price people have to pay for housing by lowering the pay out of your housing vouchers. Stop employee corruption by holding them accountable for their mistakes and not allowing them to exploit programs that are in place for clients. If you set an appointment, and the client is on time, Metrocare should be on time too. Just because these people are mentally ill doesn't mean they should get inferior treatment and that is EXACTLY what Metrocare offers. #F**kTheNonProfitIndustrialComplex
