Hear My Cry Foundation joined the event "On the Road to Giving" by Mommies In Need last September 16, 2021.

The drive-thru event provided interactive games or stay inside activities while collecting snacks and prizes to take home. Participants were able to learn about the nonprofits and how they are impacting our communities. HMCF hopes that we have shared not just fun but inspiration for the kids and the whole family to participate in acknowledging, understanding and giving to those in need.

North Texas Giving Day is on September 23rd, and early giving is already underway.

Tazora Moore shares her view on the pressure of men to always be strong and stick to the traditional masculine norm. As the founder of Hear My Cry Foundation, she strongly believes that it is time to challenge the stigma around men showing and talking about their emotions. There should be no shame in acknowledging your feelings and asking for help.

Do you agree with her statement?

Hey guys....Ive heard of the work you guys are doing and so my band and I would love to share one of our songs with you guys in hopes that maybe it can inspire people to keep their heads up and to remember,"the answers are there all around you, just open your eyes and see the truth"...God Bless.
There is just over 1 week left in the month. I have resigned to the fact that I'm not going to hit my stretch goal and that's ok. But if I can get 2 more people to sponsor a Lunchbox of love I will have a total of 20 bags to donate and $100 will go to HMCF. I'll post how to donate in the comments. And thank you again for all the support this month! If you are interested of having a fundraiser, I have several options. Just shoot me a message! Happy Monday, y'all!
My name is Erica Howard. I am a su***de survivor and victim as I lost my Daddy to depression 8 years ago. I am a consultant for Initial Outfitters and one of our products (Lunchboxes of Love) is often used for fundraisers because as we sell and donate the ones we purchase, 100% of the company proceeds get donated to ministries that help feed and educate children. September is Mental Health Awareness Month. Do you or someone you know suffer from depression, anxiety, or other mental health concerns? If so, I came up with this idea to help support Mental Health Awareness and Hear My Cry Foundation. In memory of my Daddy, each black lunchbox will be personalized with β€œCont;nue” or β€œF;ghter” or "Warr;or" in gold embroidery. I will be collecting donations for these awesome lunchboxes at just $25 each through September 30. I have Venmo, Cashapp, or PayPal. If you prefer to send cash or check, message me and I'll send you my address. The $25 donation will cover the cost of the lunchbox ($19), $1 to help offset shipping, and $5 from each donation will go to HMCF. Once collected, I will be donating the lunchboxes to a couple counseling center, as well as making a monetary donation to HMCF, which offers counseling services and other resources to those in the Dallas area. If you know someone or are interested in helping me with this project, please comment below or message me! If you would like to purchase one in honor of someone and don’t want to publicly share their name, that is fine also! All of these will be delivered mid-October! #mentalhealthawareness #endthestigma #mentalhealthmatters #depressionawareness #su***deprevention #continuethefight #anxietyawareness
So I have a question...I have had a fairly rough few years. I finally thought things were on the upswing the past couple months. Then, as it always seems, I let my guard down and started trusting someone. And just like that, I am scammed out of thousands of dollars. I am now in more debt than I could imagine, and how he played me made it so all my credit cards are over maxed out. As I write this I start to have a panic attack again. I don't know what to do. My parents would be so ashamed of me. They had to help me get out of debt years ago, and now I'm in so far over my head I don't know how to fix it. I feel like the only way to make the embarrassment go away, to make the shame go away, to end this cycle is to remove the problem because it's my fault. I can't stop thinking about how stupid I am to fall for his stupid game. Now I feel like my options are bankruptcy or giving up on everything. I just don't know that I have that much more fight left in me. Honestly, at nearly 40, the thought of living alone and on the edge of bankruptcy without the ability to talk to anyone is making me feel hopeless. I don't understand how someone can take someone's money like this and ultimately screw their life over and not even think twice about it. It's all I can think about. I can't work without thinking about it. My whole life is now consumed with thinking about how he "paid" my credit cards off by posting his bank account information. Then he asked me to get a few things for him. So I did. A week later the bank wasn't able to clear the payments so my previous balance plus what I had spent go back onto my cards. Looking back now it sounds so dumb on my part. SO incredibly dumb. I wanted to believe there was a person that was being nice. I feel like such a huge failure. I don't know how to fix this. I work a salaried job that has me working way more than 40 hours a week. Like I said...I feel hopeless at this point.
A wonderful experience it was yesterday. Tazora Moore, CEO, Hear My Cry Foundation, and I met with the Veterans Coalition of Tarrant County. We did a presentation on our Su***de Prevention program. The reception was heartfelt. We were invited to work jointly with them. Grateful I am for being a veteran, for being of service to my country, to HMCF and to my fellow vets.
With my birthday fast approaching, I have decided that the only thing I want is one more day with Peyton. The kink to my latest blog is in my bio. Please read and share.
What Makes A Death By Su***de So Different?? Losing a loved one by su***de is totally different than other kinds of death for many reasons, and has a longer healing process. Being a 'death by choice,' it leaves loved ones with a wide range of feelings that seem to run in a continuous cycle at first. Besides the usual pain of loss, most have a multitude of unanswered questions, an enormous guilt, feelings of failure, anger, and rejection. These feelings usually are knotted together in a mass of confusion, and are very overwhelming! The trauma of a su***de is so deeply devastating that it shuts down the survivor's normal coping mechanisms, causing added (often scary) feelings of, "What's wrong with me?" The rejection of friends and family is a very common aftermath of a loss by su***de. People usually don't know what to say so they completely avoid the grieving one. It's not unusual for friends to blame the survivor, sometimes openly and sometimes in subtle accusing remarks or actions. This adds to the guilt and loss that is already overwhelming them. Many people still feel that su***de is 'dirty' and won't allow the grieving one to talk about the loss. The stigma of the word su***de creates barriers in finding the help they need for support and understanding. It is very common for people to react to the word su***de in ways that insinuate the survivor must be dirty, contagious, or from an undesirable family. Because of this reaction some survivors never talk about it or seek the help they desperately need. Unresolved grief will later surface in health issues. If the survivor was there when the death occurred, or the one to find the body, graphic issues must be dealt with also. It is very traumatic and most have nightmares for years. Sleep is hard to find, yet the daytime hours are also difficult because "that movie" plays over and over in their minds, day and night. Lack of sleep coupled with a feeling of hopelessness make it seem impossible to overcome. (Not to mention popular terms, heard daily, that are devastating to a survivor, such as 'hang in there' or 'that blows me away.') Most survivors with graphic issues will also become suicidal. Many survivors have issues to work through concerning God. The stronger their faith is, the harder it is to seek counsel in the Christian community. Again, it's the stigma. It is very common for a survivor to change churches or stop going to church altogether. I have found that Christians often pat them on the back with a quick prayer, and have no clue how to minister to them. (That's how Christians were with me also) Many long-term friendships are severed also. It's not uncommon for many other losses to follow a su***de death. Another painful and sad aftermath of a death by su***de is that immediate family members sometimes turn on each other and blame one another. So rather than having one loss (the su***de) their whole family structure changes, and often is never reconciled. It's also very common for a survivor to feel so overwhelmed by guilt and so desperate for some relief from the pain that they begin to battle suicidal thoughts. This happens even in strong Christian families where prayer is prevalent. Dealing with grief and depression isn't taught enough in our churches, so people don't know what to do with it all. A good support group is often life saving! According to the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, the level of stress resulting from the su***de of a loved one is rated as catastrophic, equivalent to that of a concentration camp experience. We would like to thank you for your donation towards Olivia's services. You jumped right in to help us without hesitation. You offered your wisdom and experience which helped us tremendously. Su***de is not an easy subject, and it is hard for everyone to understand. Without your compassion and the compassion of the generous donors through your organization my family would not be able to give my daughter-in-law the proper memorial service she deserves. We are forever grateful to you and your passion for such a great cause.
Hi, I'm Susie. I'm 59. In May I tried to kill myself. I took 8 800mg. of sarquorles.( hope I spelled it right) I died. And was saved by a nurse who told me, later on, she refused to let me die.Why did I do it?? I do have bipolar 2. PTSD. I'm also being a caretaker for my husband who's disabled. It got overwhelming. I was tired. In the hospital for 2 weeks. The family was hurt. Friends too. My mom is 94. My sister wouldn't tell her until they made sure I was even going to make it. Then that was the hardest part hearing the pain in her voice when I first talked to her. I am a veteran. So I go through my treatment plan through the VA. They changed my meds. Doing okay now, except every time something goes wrong my family will remind me not to do something stupid. Holidays are hard for us for my husband and I combined has lost 4 children. So we struggle. I will never go that way again. They say you see a light at the end of the tunnel. All I saw a dark black hole and I was scared....
