Went to visit my dear friend and one of our major partner hubs, Pastor Karen Belknap, today at Inspired Vision Compassion Center. Thanks to two of our major grocery donors, Quaker Oats and Trader Joe's, they received SEVEN truckloads of much needed food, water, other beverages, even pallets of flower bouquets to give to hungry hurting families. Yesterday they provided groceries to over 2,100 families. They also provide numerous other services including an in-house children's medical clinic.

We've had some good fortune this week in these difficult times. Quaker Oats, Dallas, has donated 5 truckloads, 250,000 pounds of food and beverages. We also picked up a new donor. Trader Joe's is donating a truckload tomorrow. God is good. We are asking for donations to help pay for trucking. $1,800 will cover the trucking costs for 6 semi loads. That's less than one penny per pound, and will help feed several thousand families. Many have lost their jobs in the pandemic, and are without power and water in Dallas. Please click the link below, and give generously.

Thank you.

Hundreds of students visited Dallas Heritage Village took part in 'Walking with Destiny 2013' a program to educate and celebrate Juneteeth, the day Texas slaves were emancipated. They came away with a little understanding and some new shoes.

According to statistics from the Southern Poverty Law Center, 23.5 million U.S. households live over a mile away from any supermarket and about 2.3 million of those don’t have access to a car – a little over two percent of all households in the country. Those in food deserts are at a higher risk for obesity and obesity-related diseases like Diabetes, Heart Disease and Metabolic X Syndrome. #FeedFamiliesNotLandfills

PINTO BEANS!

Friday, Sep 8th, at about noon, we are trucking in a semi of pinto beans. If you can use some, you are welcome to come and get some at our partner location, Inspired Vision Church. If you are a feeding ministry, bring a truck! The pinto beans come in huge bulk size bags on pallets weighing 2000 pounds. And there will be 18 to 20 pallets, about 40,000 pounds of beans, friends!

As Karen Belknap says, "Bring your containers and bag your own dry pinto beans. Sounds like a lot of fun. LOL!"

The truck will arrive around noon. The pallets will be set on the parking lot and scoopers will be provided. "It is a BYOB party! Bring your own bag or BYOC- bring your own container! You must be able to carry the beans that you scoop! Your containers must be clean. Come join the fun!"

Inspired Vision Compassion Center, 9424 Military Parkway, Dallas, Tx. 75227.

Our thanks to Rick Caywood Ministries for providing all the beans!
