We want to humbly acknowledge that our TFA office in DFW are built on the seized territory of the Caddo, Kickapoo, Jumanos, Tawakoni, Wichita, and Comanche tribes. While we know this land and people acknowledgment is not enough, it is an important practice and a way to honor the people who have stewarded for generations and their elders, past and present.

We invite you reflect on how you can pay tribute. To find learn more about the history, text your zip code or city and state to 907-312-5085

Join us at Explore School Leadership, a virtual panel event that aims to highlight how to become a competitive candidate for roles like instructional coach, instructional lead teacher, assistant principal, principal in residence, and principal roles in a variety of partner districts. If securing one of these roles is something you want to do soon or in the future, we HIGHLY recommend attending this once-a year event. Our panelists for this event will be announced soon. ⭐️

This is an incredible opportunity to learn from different alumni leaders and ask any questions you may have (E.g.: how did you negotiate your salary? Who should I connect with at X district/network to make sure I am being considered for X role?). Additionally, this is a unique chance to network with fellow aspiring and current leaders and start making connections for the future.  📚✏️🚌

The event will take place on September 23rd from 6:30-8:00 PM (CT) via Zoom. We will also be providing the first 25 people who attend with an UberEats voucher to purchase a coffee or tea on us to enjoy during the event. ☕️💻

You can grab your spot by registering at the link in the comments! ☺️ #aspiringleaders #professionalgrowth #roletransitions #schoolleadership #exploreschoolleadership #tfadfwalumni #fallcareeraccelerationseries

Youth-Led Activism is Key to Building a Better World | Teach For America

Black youth led the Children’s Crusade of the Civil Rights Movement. Facing violence while gathering for education rights, they highlighted a relentlessly racist Jim Crow south and pushed forward the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Youth have always played a critical role in social change—and they can do so even in our digital, pandemic-restricted world.

Whether virtual or in person, youth civic engagement has a key role to play in shaping our future--just as it always has in social change movements.
