We examine evidence for natural selection resulting in Apis mellifera becoming tolerant or resistant to Varroa mites in different bee populations. We discuss traits implicated in Varroa resistance and how they can be measured. We show that some of the measurements used are ambiguous, as they measure...

SPECIAL DELIVERY!!💥💯🐝 Received 2 lines from Sacha d’Hoop in Belgium this morning, one from a 100% VArroa Resistant queen and one of 87% Varroa resistance. I was able to graft the larvae straight away, as they were dry packed yesterday, arriving today. I will make further grafts over the next two days, using the larvae that will hatch from the eggs that are now growing with a colony. Tremendous opportunity to be part of something so special! #aristabeeresearch
