Teddy, our RESTORE Men's Recovery Home Intern Manager, was able to pick up his 14 year old daughter, without supervision, and do fun things together. This has not happened in ten years!
Miracles are still happening in addiction recovery at RESTORE!

Blessings not expected!
Over the last several weeks, friends of RESTORE have donated items to our Men's Recovery Home, making it more like a place for athletics, such as the Foosball table, pool table, ping pong table, basketball hoop, and weights. The men are so much appreciating this outlet for their minds and spirits!

One year ago today I graduated the Restore program. I have been the manager of the after care house for Restore for about 8 months. I have met a lot of assume guys. I've been clean and sober for about a year and a half. Best of all I've been reunified with my son. This would not be possible without the help from ❤️God, Mike & Shirley Pounds , Brent Schader , and of course my guardian angle Lori Beath❤️. God is good 😁.

Just today I walked up to the checker at our local grocery and he said "hi Shirley Pounds, I remember you! Do you remember me? My name is Adam. I was on your program December 2019....I stayed just two weeks, but I heard how Jesus has the power to change my life. But i decided to leave and follow my own path and for a short time I was back using... but then i did some serious praying and God helped me. I found a clean and sober home, got a sponsor, and God is in my life giving me the power to live right! I've been working here for over a year, still doing the Twelve Steps. And I'm doing well.....just want to say thank you. My life lesson is to keep surrendered to Jesus....His Will, not mine."

We are celebrating Jesus working in RESTORE and the hard work this young lady has put in to changing from the inside out. In under 1 year this Mother has accomplished so much including working full time, attaining her first ever driver’s license, and successfully completed her Child and Family Services case. Her 2 children have been returned to her full time care!

As a graduate employee of RESTORE, Brent Schader enjoyed the privilege of taking the men's RESTORE Recovery and Aftercare Recovery residents to the top of Mt Diablo on Mothers Day. It was so nice to be able to go to the top of the mountain and be with God. In the pictures below you will see a father and son who live in our mens home. Some of the guys had the opportunity to wish their moms Happy Mother's Day. Thank you Jesus for your Presence with us!

April is the time to share current RESTORE Graduate successes! Well, this one is strange yet wonderful!

Graduate Ed (pictured below at his July 2020 graduation) went to criminal court Friday, along with some of us there to support him. He had an agreed- upon charge that was "scary" and could have resulted in a long prison sentence; but when the judge read the sentence, it did not include the "scary" but just two other serious charges, resulting in strict probation only.
God shows redemption and mercy to our graduates and residents, partly because of the good reputation of RESTORE!

RESTORE had a precious Easter Day event! THANK YOU to donors, who funded RESTORE's first Easter Homeless meal and good used clothes Outreach! t!! The event lasted several hours and our team fed 100 meals which included a hearty ham sandwich, water, chips, Easter candy and a Scripture verse-prayer... spreading hope and care to the homeless. Our team consisted of RESTORE residents and staff who spent hours interfacing with homeless, located in camps throughout our area.
Most of them are dually diagnosed- mentally ill with deadly addictions. This was tramatic, even for this 53 year addiction recovery advocate "veteran" (Michael Pounds).

Easter is just around the corner and RESTORE wants to serve our first Easter meal to our homeless friends.
We want to give lots of Easter-In-A-Bag meals to those with whom we are building relationships, in order to guide them to addiction recovery and mental health services.
Because RESTORE has no facility to prepare this food, we are giving out Easter Bags with a ham sandwich, Easter eggs, chips, and water.
Please consider a contribution to this project at https://restore1.org/easter-2021/ This community needs your HELP!

The news media reported that a homeless man was recently killed near our Trader Joe's. But God and his friends and family see a man they loved so deeply.
Multitudes showed up for a Candlelight Vigil last night. Our "pre", "in" and "out of" addiction recovery crowd tried desperately to honor precious Robert..and hear the pain of his father, etc.
God have mercy on the killer(s) and comfort the grieving!

From one of our graduates who is 4 years clean and sober today!!
"Woke up this morning only by the grace of God with 4 years of consecutive clean time. 1460 days consciously deciding not to use and working hard to become better than I was the day before. I am SO beyond blessed with the life recovery has made possible. I have a God given purpose today as well as a personal relationship with Jesus. I am so grateful for each and every person that has crossed paths with me over the past 4 years whether you’re a constant in my life, or have just passed through.... I thank you. I thank you for the gifts you have brought to my life as well as the lessons I’ve learned. I’ve grown to appreciate the bad as well as the good in all areas. I’ve learned to love and respect myself and others. I’ve learned the value of true friendship. I’ve learned to trust and be trusted. I’ve gained knowledge of the fact I’m not even close to done nor do I want to be! I am so excited for so much more!!! I’m a better woman in all areas in my life-- thanks to GOD, NA and EVERY one of you! So thank you! Today is as much yours as it is mine. TODAY WE ARE 4!!!"💕💕💕

This has been a tough year for those in our RESTORE Residential Recovery Program. They have to do AA meetings via Zoom and meet with sponsors over the phone and most of this time without in-person church.
But Theo made it and graduated last evening!
He moved back with his wife and children. He has a responsible job and firm faith in God his Father. Praise Jesus!!

It seems that often God does court miracles for our RESTORE residents. Yesterday T was expecting, as per his Public Defender, to serve two months in jail for two criminal charges. So Home Manager, Brent drove him to Modesto for his court appointment. While they stood outside in this very long line, the Public Defender texted T with great news! Unbelievable, the
State's Defence Officer asked the Judge to count T's time in a recovery program as "time served". The Judge granted that and dropped the charges with no probation! T is a free man! Praise God from whom all blessing flow!

RESTORE tries to uniquely help our addiction recovering residents. Ed, a Graduate of our Recovery Program, is now living in our Aftercare Recovery Home and gets to finally have his son (who is a ward of Family Court and part of Child Family Services) overnight every few days!
At our Womens and Childrens Home, we work exclusively with Mothers who have open Child Family Services cases. And now we are extending this to our Men's Aftercare Home!
Who knows, maybe God wants us to do this more often for fathers in addiction recovery? Just look at the joy in this dad's eyes!!

She lives in a safe home environment with two other graduates and is a blessing in this world!
