Mark 11:29-33 (ESV) “29 Jesus said to them, I will ask you one question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. 30 Was the baptism of John from heaven or from man? Answer me. 31 And they discussed it with one another, saying, If we say, From heaven, he will say, Why then did you not believe him? 32 But shall we say, From man?—they were afraid of the people, for they all held that John really was a prophet. 33 So they answered Jesus, We do not know. And Jesus said to them, Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”⁣

EXPOSING SITUATIONS⁣
 ⁣
You ever know somebody was playing games with you but you were aware of the truth?⁣
 ⁣
So to get everything exposed out into the light you set them up per say with a question or situation that leaves them no choice to reveal the truth?⁣
 ⁣
Well in our devotional text Jesus entered into one of those situations with the Jewish leaders of His day.⁣
 ⁣
He had been bothering them for quite a while at this point: teaching scripture, healing the sick, performing miracles, and rebuking their wrong interpretations and lifestyles.⁣
 ⁣
He had become a thorn, so looking to discredit Him that ask Him who gave you permission to do all these things you are doing?⁣
 ⁣
What I love is that Jesus knew why they really asked that question, it wasn’t because they would change at the revelation but be used to attack Him.⁣
 ⁣
So He set them up and asked them about John the Baptist’s ministry, was it from God or no. Because they knew that any answer they gave would expose the truth in their hearts they avoided the question all together.⁣
 ⁣
How does this apply to us? By knowing that God is looking for the truth that is in our hearts not an act.⁣
 ⁣
In response to our questions sometimes God will allow situations to happen or ask us a question that will reveal the truth in our hearts.⁣
 ⁣
He doesn’t want anything that is fake, false, or phony. He wants the real deal truth that is in our hearts, it is better that we expose the truth ourselves or be put into a position where we are exposed.⁣
 ⁣
Once God has the truth out in the open He is able to deal with it and that is where we will find true change.⁣

Mark 10:1 “And he left there and went to the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan, and crowds gathered to him again. And again, as was his custom, he taught them.”⁣
 ⁣
LET HIM TEACH YOU⁣
 ⁣
Everyone needs a teacher.⁣
 ⁣
Teachers are vital to the development of their students because what they do is transfer proven knowledge to their under studies.⁣
 ⁣
This equips them to be able to handle circumstances or challenges they face with something that has already be tried and tested.⁣
 ⁣
The student must be willing to learn and to accept what is being taught in order to benefit from it. Humility is necessary.⁣
 ⁣
What we see in our devotional text this morning is that we have a willing teacher in the Lord Jesus Christ.⁣
 ⁣
The state that whenever the crowds would gather around Him that He would teach them and this was His custom.⁣
 ⁣
He had a practice of passing on knowledge to those around Him. He wouldn’t allow them to sit in His presence and not teach them anything.⁣
 ⁣
This reveals apart of God’s character where He doesn’t want us to not be in the know. It’s actually the opposite He wants to keep us informed and equipped with the knowledge of the truth.⁣
 ⁣
The issue is not Him but it is us. Most people would rather sit under the knowledge of this world instead of humbly approaching His throne.⁣
 ⁣
God is in the teaching business, but He is only teaching those that have humility in their hearts and a desire to gather around Him.⁣
 ⁣
I pray that we all would see the value in sitting with this teacher and understand that He is willing to teach the humble.⁣

Psalms 74:10-12 (ESV) “10 How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile your name forever?⁣
11 Why do you hold back your hand, your right hand? Take it from the fold of your garment and destroy them! 12 Yet God my King is from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.”⁣
 ⁣
THE GOD OF SALVATION⁣
 ⁣
God has always been in the people saving business.⁣
 ⁣
From the beginning of time, continually, God has made a way to save those who should not be saved but who should be judged.⁣
 ⁣
This is who He is, He is love personified and expressed through every action that He takes.⁣
 ⁣
In the chapter our devotional text comes from (Psalms 74) the plalmist is questioning why God is allowing His enemys to remain.⁣
 ⁣
He wants to understand why it looks like they are prospering in their evil works and blasphemies against God. Surely God should judge them and bring them to an end but why is He prolonging this?⁣
 ⁣
I often wonder this. God why are you letting the evil people prosper and do every wicked thing under the sun and yet remain? And why does it seem as the righteous suffer?⁣
 ⁣
Then in our text (vs. 12) it feels like there was a moment of meditation followed by a revelation of two things:⁣
 ⁣
1.       God Is King⁣
2.       From the beginning He is working Salvation⁣
 ⁣
God is the supreme authority He allows what He allows and He judges when He judges. He will do what is right at the appropriate time it, it may not be my timing but God will be on time.⁣
 ⁣
Then secondly, there is grace for the foes of God because He is working salvation in the earth. God’s grace gives men an opportunity to from foe to friend of God.⁣
 ⁣
He has done this from the beginning. He is the great judge but He is also the great Savior and author of salvation.⁣
 ⁣
Let us rejoice in the fact that He has saved us and turned us from foe to friend.⁣

Mark 9:2-3 (ESV) “2 And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, 3 and his clothes became radiant, intensely white, as no one on earth could bleach them.”

APART WITH JESUS

When was the last time you were alone with Jesus?

It’s easy to say that you were in the presence of the Lord when you are attending a church service but what about when you don’t walk through the doors?

One thing about intimacy is that it is not built out in the open.

Let’s take couples for example on the surface everyone can see the affection that they have for each other but that usually is an expression of something deeper that is happening behind the scenes.

There is a level of uncovering that happens away from public eye with nobody around that builds deep and long lasting bonds in a marriage this also rings true in our relationship with God.

The deepest revelations from God come when we are alone with God.

When Jesus was ready to reveal another aspect of Himself He only did so with three of His disciples AWAY from everybody else.

He took them to the side and when they were by themselves they saw Him as they never seen before.

What revelations are awaiting you if you take the time to be alone with Jesus, to set aside time to hear from Him?

Where ever you are at now you need to understand that there is another level there is a deeper revelation but that can only come when you are alone with God.

Mark 2:3-5 (ESV) “3 And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. 4 And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay. 5 And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, Son, your sins are forgiven.”⁣
 ⁣
FAITH ON THE MOVE⁣
 ⁣
You cannot say that you have faith and there is no action behind it.⁣
 ⁣
From the Christian worldview faith is trusting in God above what you currently see and feel at the present moment. It is an internal belief that stretches out into the actions of the person.⁣
 ⁣
Sticking with our devotional text for example, in Mark 1 Jesus has jumped on the scene and everywhere He is going people are being healed.⁣
 ⁣
So much so that people began to seek Him out to experience this power that people have been talking about and spreading throughout the region.⁣
 ⁣
We have this paralytic who wants to be healed but can’t move, so I assume that he called to his friends to help get him to Jesus. Why? Because, and they, believed that if he could just get to Him he would be healed.⁣
 ⁣
They had faith for it, but they also didn’t wait for it to magically happen. They weren’t looking for a magical chance encounter for this healing to take place.⁣
 ⁣
They knew where He was, so they had to take action to get there. They actually took so much action that they broke the roof just to get close.⁣
 ⁣
What I love is the text says “when Jesus saw their faith”, so are faith is visible! It is something tangible and that can be seen but it flows from an internal belief in an all-powerful and loving God.⁣
 ⁣
Let me ask you a question: Have you seen your faith lately? Has God seen your faith lately?⁣
 ⁣
If you have not seen your faith in action my friend then you need to check your internal beliefs, and who and what that you have put your faith in.⁣
 ⁣
Faith that is placed in God will constantly be on the move why? ⁣

Because it will always be looking for and moving after Jesus a to get to where He is.⁣

Complete victory is possible, without losing a thing! Do you believe it?
Good Morning Everyone! Pray everyone got some rest and are back on track. You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. John 5:39‭-‬40 ESV WILLINGNESS TO COME Have you ever needed something and known where to go to get it but didn't want to? When I was growning up in my house if we wanted to go out we had to ask my dad but we'd try to ask my mom to avoid it but still would have to ask him anyway lol This is the conversation Jesus is having with a religious group they thought they had it all together. Religiously you could not touch them, they were above reproach on the outside but Jesus marked them, "You have no life in you". This is a strong statement but He was trying to get their attention. The reason they had no life is because there were going to the wrong source. Then when the right source appeared they were unwilling to submit to it. Life is available to us on the basis of our willingness to submit to Him (Jesus). God keeps nothing from us but it can be our refusal of him that stops Life from flowing into us. Prayer: Lord, I pray that I look to no other source to fill satisfied but you. You are Life! Other things cannot fill me the way you can. Let your Spirit fill my hear with a willingness and the humility to come to you always. In Jesus name, AMEN. 🙏🏾
