On everyone’s minds: Will there be an Artisan Studio Tour in 2020? We have 44 artisans in 22 studios who would love to see you in November! We are moving ahead with our plans for an in-person Studio Tour. But if safety demands, our Tour will go Virtual with an exciting web site experience. Even 20/20 vision can’t tell us what our world will be like in 5 months, but we remain hopeful and ask that you keep checking here and our web site for latest details.
Mostly to Tour artisans, but also all our wonderful followers: City Clay has been a site on the Tour many times, but also generously serves as a free meeting and pick-up site for the Tour. Randy's generosity has served us well. But City Clay serves even a broader community of people just like you. Let's not let it fall victim to Covid-19! Save the day for City Clay.
For almost nine years, City Clay in Charlottesville, Virginia has been a dynamic… Nan Rothwell needs your support for Keep City Clay Afloat During COVID-19

Nan Rothwell's studio, a regular stop on the Studio tour, was scheduled to have this exhibit up for the canceled NCECA conference in Richmond. It was called Simply Functional and sure did look nice. So here's your chance to see what Nan has been up to.
Since my NCECA show came and went without people getting to see the pots, I am posting a small gallery of the work here.
The Tour's very own Christina Boy and Suzanne Crane will have their work featured at Sperryville's Cottage Curator's 23 Women Artists event this month. Swing by Sperryville and celebrate Women's History Month in artistic style!

The Artisans Studio Tour was founded in 1994 to enhance the community's awareness of professional artisans living and working in the region. All Tour artisans have gone through a rigorous approval process that ensures that the crafts are of the highest quality. In 2019 25th annual Tour (November 9 & 10) showcased 46 artisans in 25 working studios in Charlottesville, VA and surrounding counties of Albemarle, Greene, Madison, and Nelson. Held annually on the second weekend in November, the Tour is a cooperative effort of the participating artisans who are collectively responsible for the costs of producing the Tour. The Tour is self-guided and is free and open to the public. Each studio on the Tour also provides food and beverages from some of the area's best establishments as well as artisan-prepared treats.
