It takes 5 weeks to be fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine, the only vaccine currently available for those 12 to 17 years of age.
With the Fairfax County Public School year beginning Aug. 23, this means that students should get their first dose no later than July 19 to be fully vaccinated. Find out more: https://bit.ly/3eaNryP

Most organ and tissue donations occur after the donor has died. But some organs and tissues can be donated while the donor is alive. Nearly 6,000 living donations take place each year.

Living donors potentially can donate: One of two kidneys. One of two lobes of their liver. A lung or part of a lung, part of the pancreas, or part of the intestines.

Some of the tissues donated by living donors are: Skin, after certain surgeries. Bone after knee and hip replacements. Healthy cells from bone marrow and umbilical cord blood. Blood, including white and red blood cells, platelets, and the serum that carries blood cells throughout the circulatory system.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is conducting a study to collect information on the outcomes of living donors over time. At present, follow-up reviews of living donors by some transplant centers show that living donors, on average, have done very well over the long term.

We took our best shot against COVID-19! These are our final numbers from our vaccine clinic we operated February-May. We could not have achieved this level of success nor impact in our community had it not been for all the volunteers, physicians, pharmacists, nurses & support staff. Thank you Fairfax County Health Department for your logistical support and providing MRC volunteers.

Thank you All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) and the leadership at the Sully Center for working collaboratively with ACHN in utilizing your large space so we could broaden our vaccination campaign.

Lastly, we are proud to have vaccinated employees of the following local businesses. Please support them: Anita's New Mexican Food Chantilly, Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard , H-MART, The Cleaning Authority, and many others!

There's a lot of room for dangerous misunderstanding when doctors and public health officials talk to diverse groups about COVID-19. Health literacy projects aim to dispel confusion in all languages.

We did it, Virginia! 70% of adults have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine—and two weeks ahead of
President Joe Biden's nationwide goal.

Grateful to the millions of Virginians who rolled up their sleeves to get vaccinated. Let's all keep working to #VaccinateVirginia!

Accessible healthcare includes the ability of our patients to interact with clinicians when discussing their health- in any language. We are striving to improve this by expanding our team of language interpreters!

As our patient population grows and diversifies, we are continually looking for foreign language interpreters who are able to volunteer (either in person or virtually). Arabic, Bangla, Farsi, Pashto & Spanish, are most in need.

Please call/email the clinic today if you are able to assist.

Mental health is an important part of overall health and well-being. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices.

We at ACHN value the mental health of our patients. All patients fill out this questionnaire during every visit. This helps us effectively screen and connect our patients with comprehensive counseling & interventions. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #selfcare

Guess who has the best patients in the world?! We do!

Our volunteers, physicians, and office staff want to thank all the patients/donors who send us kind words about their experiences and medical care at our clinic. Writing a thank you card/letter is a kind gesture. Providing charitable medical care is not easy, but coming to the clinic every day to this wall of appreciation absolutely recharges our batteries. Thank you.

ADAMS Compassionate Healthcare network is a free clinic dedicated to providing medical services to low-income and uninsured individuals in Northern Virginia. As our name suggests, we provide compassionate, quality healthcare to the most vulnerable of our population for free or at low cost. Below is an infographic sharing the outcomes of our efforts to #vaccinatevirginia against COVID-19 in April.

This will be our final month completing 1st and 2nd doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines at our location. Virginia is only 37% fully vaccinated (48% if you count those with at least one dose of two). Let's keep going folks! #StayPositive #TestNegative #FreeClinic #ThisIsOurShot #Safe #Effective #FairfaxCountyHealth
