Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA) SMACNA represents 4,500 contributing contractor firms and develops internationally recognized technical standards for use by the design community in specifying sheet metal installations and for use in the fabrication and installation of HVAC, architectural and specialty sheet metal systems.

SMACNA exists to address issues common to member firms that impact the industry nationally and internationally. The association serves members' needs to improve their business environment through industry education, labor relations, standards, industry representation and business studies.

Trade-Mark Industrial Inc modified and combined the exhaust system for a two-story, 402,000-square-foot meat production facility. The goal of the project was to control odors in the plant. “We removed the existing exhaust duct systems on the roof and installed larger new 70-inch diameter exhaust ducts,” noted George Colussi, Trade-Mark’s sheet metal and HVAC manager. “Modifications were also made to the ductwork inside the plant to accommodate the increase in airflow.” More in #SMACNews: https://smac.news/trade-mark

Menold Inc. “It's not just putting dirt on the roof and growing plants,” he said. Matherly Mechanical Contractors LLC has been working at Tinker Air Force Base since the 1960s. This huge energy efficiency project focused on Building 3001, a 2.4 million-square-foot maintenance depot that served as the birthplace of thousands of Douglas C-47 Skytrain transport planes during World War II. Matherly's job was to remove the facility’s existing steam heat and air handling units while adding new direct-fired gas make-up air units to provide fresh air for the building’s production and administration areas.
