Helping Children Worldwide

Helping Children Worldwide Transforming communities by serving vulnerable children and families through education, health care and spiritual mentoring.
Helping Children Worldwide (HCW) is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that builds trusting relationships with mission sustaining partners and collaborates with international program partners to transform communities and tackle the greatest barriers to sustainable futures; poverty, disease, illiteracy and hopelessness. We partner with local leadership to strengthen communities in Sierra Leone, one of the poorest countries in the world, by supporting programs that provide vulnerable children and their families with opportunities for education, health care, and spiritual mentoring. Two of the programs HCW underwrites, the Child Rescue Centre (CRC) and Mercy Hospital are especially focused on education, family stability, maternal health, infant survival, and childhood nutrition. HCW provides financial underwriting, training, technical advice, long term and short term mission team support to Mercy Hospital and the CRC to provide life-changing care for thousands of children and their families.

The need is so great. There are so many children in need of education & good nutrition. So many families in need of that extra "leg up" to help them succeed. But every precious life that is saved or positively impacted makes a huge difference. Please share in the comments what you do to stay inspired!

"Because children belong in families."
The UN General Assembly has adopted its first ever Resolution on the Rights of the Child focused on children without parental care. For the first time in history, the UNGA called on all 193 Member States to take concrete action to implement the international commitments they have made to protect the human rights of children without parental care, including children in alternative care, under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and international guidelines, such as the Guidelines for the Alternative Care of Children. HCW is a signatory on the Key Rights Resolution. Reunification efforts are underway through our partners in Sierra Leone, Zambia, Uganda, and Kenya. Our goal this Giving Tuesday is to on-board 500 new monthly donors who will help reunify children with their family – where every child belongs.

Will you help advance the opportunity for children to be reunified with family through this powerful message?

Giving Tuesday is all about generosity, and our hope is for you to join the movement as we strive to on-board 500 new monthly donors who will help reunify children with their family.

Our Story

Helping Children Worldwide is strengthening communities in Sierra Leone, one of the poorest countries in the world, by providing vulnerable children and their families with opportunities for education, health care, and spiritual mentoring. The programs at the Child Rescue Centre and Mercy Hospital are especially focused on education, family stability, maternal and infant mortality, and childhood malnutrition. By partnering with local government and child advocacy organizations in Sierra Leone, we help children and families achieve their wonderful, God-given potential. Join us today to transform lives and communities!

The Child Rescue Centre (CRC) supports nearly 600 vulnerable children and youth in Sierra Leone, one of the poorest countries in the world, by providing for their education, health care, and spiritual mentoring. Our programs help struggling families keep their children in school, so that they can become self-sufficient leaders in their communities and in their nation. For just $25 a month, you can help a child reach their awesome God-given potential.

Mercy Hospital’s mission is to improve infant, child, and maternal health by providing holistic, community-focused care. The hospital serves the second largest city in Sierra Leone with a trained and dedicated medical staff, a laboratory, and a fully stocked pharmacy, providing care to thousands of patients each year, regardless of ability to pay. Mercy’s reach extends beyond the hospital and into the surrounding villages through community-based clinics and education programs, including nutrition clinics, prenatal care, malaria testing and treatment, and confidential HIV/AIDS testing and counseling.

Thank you for your attention andwe hope for your contribution to our school. The Mahabodhi Residential School was established in the year 2016 with just 25 girls and 45 boys selected from the most remote and ignored regions of Tuichawng areas. Today the school has grown huge and has a total of100 above students pursuing their studies from class iii to 10th standard. It is affiliated to the Mizoram Board of School Education and has successfully established a hostel building and the students are under the care and guidance of compassionate wardens. The Mahabodhi Residential School is a natural and tranquil institutionaway from the din of the city which fosters an ideal educational environment for both students and thek teachers. Amidst the beautiful hills the school nurtures the life of students coming together from the widespread hamlets in the region of Tuichawng. It is aunique school where young monks, boys& girls and orphan children receive secular education without any biases and differences. This school has been established for eradication of illiteracy among the indigenous Micro minority chakma children as the chakma people ofmizoram are lagging behind education due to financial problems. As such, I fervently pray and request you to be so good as to kindly extend your generous support for developing our school and helping our deprived children to get education on humanitarian ground. ”-by Sudip Chakma, Volunteer, Fundraiser & Founder of Mahabodhi Residential School, Tuichawng. www.tutpm.in http://tutpm-tuichawng.blogspot.in/ Email : [email protected] Mobile : 9612602899 https://www.workaway.info/267218473385-en.html
