Aug 14, 2021: Induz is very proud to sponsor an Art workshop for children of Santosh Charity home in Bangalore, India.
The theme of the workshop was Emerging out of Covid - Hope and positivity !!
The children demonstrated passion and creativity in coming up with artwork that aligned to this theme.
We had a small feat for the children after the workshop. Everyone and their families were provided monthly groceries which INDUZ has been doing throughout the pandemic. We also have toys to the children. Overall, a very positive outcome!! Thanks to Mr Isaac for his support in driving this initiative.

Induz Lends a Helping Hand Towards Covid-19 Relief

Induz being an Arts and Education focused non-profit organization, has always stepped up to help the community during natural disasters Ex. Nepal Earthquake, Haiti Earthquake, Floods in Kerala India etc.

Covid-19 is a disaster impacting everyone; and it is the worst hit for people in remote areas and those that are living in poverty. Induz has been helping the children and their families engaged in our programs with support for groceries, sanitizers, masks, soap etc.

Relief Effort for Orphans in Mfangano Island, Kenya: We work with George Oko in Kenya and have been supporting over 120 children and their families with groceries, masks and sanitizers. These are orphan kids who live in extreme poverty.
The children are part of the Island School where Induz has built an Arts center and supports ongoing arts, music and dance classes.

Relief Effort for Children with Nodding Head Syndrome in Uganda : We work with Jolly Grace Okot, founder of Wend Africa to support children with nodding head syndrome with Soap and groceries. Induz supports these children on going with Dance and Music therapy sessions.

Relief Effort for Orphans at Santosh Hime, Bangalore, India: We work with Isaac Raj, who runs the Children's home in Bangalore. The children have gone back to their homes and their guardians' place and are struggling with the impact of Covid. Induz has supported them with groceries, sanitizers and masks.
Induz has been providing ongoing Arts, Music, Dance, Sewing classes for kids at the orphanage for the last 12 years.

Induz will continue to support them and would appreciate your help/donation towards these efforts so that we can help them withstand the terrible impact of Covid.

Thank you,

Yours sincerely,

Ray Mitra

Nov 2019 Mfangano Island, Kenya
Visit to Mfangano Island, Kenya in 2015 and meeting the children at St James school got us excited to initiate an arts project there which we subsequently started. We sponsor arts, music and dance programs for the children, along with class room furnitute. Several of the children there are orphans or hiv+. We have worked closely with George who manages the programs on site. Having seen the commitment and dedication this far, leading to a very successful program ; Induz has decided to sponsor the construction of class rooms.
Construction has begun and we are excited to see though the completion of this project. This will make a huge impact for the children. We will continue to provide periodic updates on the construction.
Thank you all for your support and good wishes.

Santosh Orphanage, Bangalore India - Nov 2019
The children at the Santosh Home had a wonderful time going to picnic and then performing dance and songs at a large event that they were invited to. So, proud to share images of these happy and talent kids that induz has been supporting for the last 12-13 years. We have seen kids graduate from the home to become successful engineers, accountants etc.
Thank to all your continued support for Induz that enables us to bring smile to the faces of these children.

Induz’s mission is about enabling creativity through arts - true to the mission, children were asked to draw a clothes line as they see it. And I am so happy to see their creations.

Induz Initiative: Healing Powers of Music for Disabled Children
By: Amber Cheffins Girard, Induz initiative lead

Odek, Uganda, Feb-July 2019:

Have you ever wondered if the power of music can heal? I am here to tell you YES, YES and a million more YES’s!!!! This last February with the support and sponsorship from Induz non-profit, my humanitarian partner, Gupri Dosanj, and I traveled to Odek, Uganda to bring music therapy to a community of village children struggling with a rare neurological disorder called Nodding Syndrome. Seeing these children come together to dance, sing, laugh, smile and connect through the power of music affirmed to me how joy is cultivated and that allows for healing of the body, mind and spirit.

The significance of these gatherings (or therapy sessions) with music therapists, not only bring healing joy to the children themselves but they also encourage a place of community and connection for the families enduring this disease. It is a tremendous challenge for any parent struggling with a child with disabilities, and even more so when resources is limited.
However when community gathering occurs in the spirit of music, everyone feels less alone as they find connection through the power of music.
Induz sponsored a battery operated music system, musical equipment’s, food for the community and some funds which is now stored at the community center, and can be used for ongoing therapy sessions.

I was fortunate enough to travel back to Uganda with my family a few weeks ago. Induz along the Encinitas Rotary Club again sponsored a weekend music program for the village that created and instilled magic in these children.

Witnessing them eager, excited, engaged and filled with hope is a breathtaking experience and I am so grateful to have been able to share their joy with my husband and children. Their joy ripples through into their families’ heart and the spirit of music transcends the struggle and brings peace.

Creations by children engaged in the Induz Passport To World Arts program.

Congratulations to Induz Youth Ambassador, Nikita Cardozo for successfully completing the program.
Here is a brief write up from Nikita -
"I volunteered at the San Jose Family Shelter, where I was an ambassador for Induz and taught low income children arts from around the world. Ranging from paper dragons from China to sun masks from the Incan civilization, kids were able to learn about the world, making them more accepting of other cultures. I was able to teach these kids since they had no art programs in their own schools and no art experience. Through this program, they were able to utilize their creativity and think outside the box. Not only did I have an amazing experience teaching these kids, I believe they also made the most of this opportunity and did not take it for granted. I am so grateful for the experience that Induz and the Girl Scouts community has provided me and I will forever remember what I have learned through these sessions. I believe I have grown as a leader, and have become much more flexible resilient. "

May 25, 2019- update from Haiti
Very happy to report that we have seen good progress on the construction of the Induz Resource Center that will service the 300+ children in the village.
The tin sheet for roof have been put up.
Things are not easy in Haiti, especially in the mountains. We have to wait for weeks and weeks/month before some of these materials becomes available.

05/12/2019

Children enrolled in the Induz Arts, Music and Dance program which was launched just a few months back in Mfangano Island school in Kenya already learnt so much that they have been asked to perform at the community event. Proud of the students and our new teacher who are teaching them the traditional dancing and singing styles. Thank you George Ooko for driving this initiative for Induz.
