During this time of the year we can get all caught up in buying things. Spending money that we may not have and causing stress on ourselves that isn't needed. Don't put yourself in debt trying to show others you care about them. There are plenty of ways to give this year without spending money. Check out these 5 ways to not spend money on gifts this year below.

1. Shop secondhand. Try checking out antique shops, thrift stores or even Facebook Marketplace for one of a kind gifts that need a second home.
2. Do a household gift exchange. Find something that you no longer use in your home and gift it to someone who would.
3. Create a gift. Make something homemade! Whether it is some sweet treats or a piece of jewelry, get creative!
4. Create an experience. Set up a game night or an indoor smores experience. Set aside time for quality time.
5. Give back. Offer to do something for someone else, no questions asked!

The holidays can bring on a lot of unneeded stress and anxiety to yourself and loved ones. We have been through enough stress this year that we don't need to add to it. Remember that the holidays are best spent happy and healthy. Use these tips to help create a stress free holiday environment for yourself.

1. Perfection doesn't exist. So don't try to make everything perfect. Life is messy and that is the beauty of it.

2. It is not all about the materialistic things in life. Try adding new experiences and traditions this year. Maybe a game night or puzzle night with the family.

3. Make sure your cup is staying full. Take time to sit by the fire, go for a walk or simply just be alone and breathe. We can't give to others if we are on empty.

4. It is okay to say no. Don't feel like you have to accept every invitation. Say no if you aren't feeling up to it. It is not worth sacrificing your mental health and wellbeing.

5. Smile! This time of year is meant to be a joyous time with loved ones. Enjoy the belly laughs and the good company. You deserve it.

6. You don't have to do it all. Be intentional with your time but don't try to make everything happen. You will burn yourself out quickly.

Tracking progress and identifying mile markers as you work towards your goals can be challenging. The key to holding yourself accountable is having a strong support group who can celebrate your accomplishments with, even if you may not think they are worth celebrating. As we approach the end of the year, how have you been keeping on track with your goals? Do you a journal or calendar where you keep track or are you more of the wishing and manifesting type?

We know how important #goalsetting is in making sure we stay balanced and well. However, this year looks a little different than planned, since COVID has affected so many lives.

So today give yourself some grace on the goals you missed and celebrate the ones you were still able to accomplish. Use your 3-5 to lean on when you need to.

Grounding works physically, mentally, and emotionally. A firm foundation gives you the ability to make thoughtful choices rather than follow patterns.
