Beresford Swimming Pool

Beresford Swimming Pool

As summer is quickly approaching, we are happy to announce that we will be opening June 15th at 1:00 pm. As a result of COVID-19, special guidelines and regulations have been put into place in order to keep patrons, and BMSP staff safe. Please refer to the defined guidelines below when thinking of attending our local swimming pool.

1. If you, or your child, is sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, you, or your child, will not be able to utilize out facilities until recovered. This is the responsibility of the parents and children to be accountable and stay safe.

2. We will NOT be providing swimming lessons this summer in order to better prevent the spread of COVID-19.

3. The BMSP will be available ONLY to Beresford citizens, or students of the Beresford school district. Upon entry, you may be asked to provide proof of residency.

4. We will not be accepting cash, or checks this season. You MUST purchase a pool pass at the Beresford City Hall upon arriving to the pool facility. We WILL NOT be selling season passes from our pool facility. Season passes will still be $125 for a family, and $75 for a single individual.

5. We will NOT be providing deck chairs for patrons to utilize throughout the day. Lawn chairs, and towels/blankets are welcome.

6. Our hours have changed to 1:00 pm- 6:00 pm, Monday-Sunday. This will allow for staff to safely clean, and disinfect all areas of the BMSP facility each night.

7. Starting June 15th, Our slide, and locker room facilities will be closed. We will route you through our bath house in a manner in which will be safe for patrons, and staff of the BMSP. We will have one bathroom facility that patrons can utilize that will be cleaned multiple times throughout the day.

8. We WILL NOT be having a concession stand this year. Water bottles and beverages are welcomed, but we ask that you do not bring food products, as we try to limit the spread of COVID-19.

9. We WILL NOT be able to give life jackets to patrons this season. We ask that if your child needs to utilize a life jacket, that you please bring/purchase your own.

10. We WILL NOT allow pool toys, or balls in our facility this year, as we once again try to limit the spread of COVID-19.

My staff and I are looking forward to being able to provide Beresford citizens with a safe, and healthy swimming experience this summer. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send us a message, or reach us at (605) 763-2558.

On Saturday, May 16, Beresford High School’s seniors will be recognized with a virtual graduation at 2:00 followed by a car parade. Lining up for the parade will start at about 3:30. Please see the attached map for the parade route.

We would encourage business owners and community members to step outside and cheer these kids on. We would also like to encourage business owners to decorate their store fronts in support of the seniors.

Saturday morning, garden flags honoring each of seniors will be put out along the 3rd St boulevards and following the car parade the seniors will be out standing by their individual flags. We encourage family and friends to then “cruise the loop” around them to show them our support during this time of social distancing. The seniors of BHS and their parents thank you for supporting them during their years in the Beresford District. Go, Watchdogs!
