According to HBR, hiring talent remains the number one concern for the entire executive suite and views talent and skills' unavailability as the biggest threat to their business. Employers also spend an enormous amount on recruitment—an average of $4,129 per job in the United States, and many times that amount for managerial roles— and the United States fills a staggering 66 million jobs a year. Hiring quality leadership takes time and requires strategy, as the first hires are often cultural co-founders. As Reid Hoffman, board member of Endeavor Global, says, "The first 150 hires are your cultural co-founders. It's up to you, the founder, to get every one right." So what are the keys to hiring for scale? In Season 3, listeners will hear from Endeavor Entrepreneurs on executive hiring strategies, leadership assessment, and industry trends designed for scale.

"Access to talent was the most common obstacle cited by interviewees in this study. However, according to a March 2020 study, 74 percent of companies plan to permanently shift some of their employees to remote work. As less populated regions expect
an influx of highly skilled transplants, there are new opportunities for local founders. They can benefit from technology and infrastructure improvements made to attract remote workers, and eventually approach those new residents in recruiting efforts." - Endeavor Insight

When asked what types of collaborations could be formed to address engagement with minority serving institutions, Edward Haddock, District Director for the Arkansas District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration, comments that they are always thinking about how to better serve those who are restricted from capital access components and have more barriers than others.

“Startup businesses don’t get venture financing out of the gate, most of them start nowadays with co-founder savings - money they have in their pockets or the money their friends and family have. So if we can’t put individuals on a proper track today and live below the necessary means they’re never going to have that additional funds for reinvestments or investments in more opportunities” - Edward Haddock

Join us for episode 34 over at #TheMultiplierEffect to learn more about the SBA plans to increase this engagement and collaborations to support entrepreneurs in Arkansas.
