Dancing Leaf Farm features Dalis' own line of hand dyed yarns and fiber. A small farm in central Maryland is home to her cottage studio, a small flock of sheep and colorful yarn.
Our Airbnb is the caretakers cottage next to this dam for producing electricity. I have this love of old mills and am so intrigued with their history.
Tiniest chicken egg ever. On the right is a regular sized egg. It’s a start I guess. It’s her first egg. #chicken
Makers. Such a great job ladies! Felting at Black Sheep Yarn Shop.
Second class of the day and these ladies/crafters created these gorgeous scarves. Had so much fun laughing and throwing on roving and sparkles. Thank you Donna at Black Sheep Yarn Shop for organizing this. #handmade #felting #nunofelt #nunofelting #blacksheepyarnshop
My students are nailing it! Needle felting class today. #needlefelting
My morning task of skeining up these darling minis. Sharing the sun rays with Trapper. A great way to start the day. #handdyedyarn #handdyersofinstagram #yarn #wool
I love new color ways because they’re fresh and fun and experimental and make me happy. Jump out of bed on Monday and splash some color on the fiber. #handdyersofinstagram #handdyedyarn
Hi. My name is Delilah, Delly for short. I’m single, have a shy personality, Probably an introvert. I like sunrises and sunsets and long walks under the moonlight. I love cool drinking water and fresh hay. For treats I prefer sweet feed over grain. Outdoor activities include grazing, an occasional run and maybe a roll in the hay (lol!). I have a sweet face (although at the moment I could use a clip so you can see my beautiful eyes). Four years young with lots of energy. Looking for same.
About to start my second ever rug punch project. I need practice to get those loops consistent. #rugpunch
More fun. #jewelry @ Dancing Leaf
I had fun yesterday. I need to use up my jewelry supplies. #jewelry @ Dancing Leaf
I am absolutely in love with this new mug I got at Anthropology. Cute, right?! So that was my jumping off point for Miss Lydia (the flighty and audacious sister from Pride & Prejudice). The mug reminded me of a cute female character with those rosy cheeks and polka dots. Soon to be listed. #handdyedyarn #handdyersofinstagram #yarn #wool #knitting
Fresh from the garden in February! Beets and leeks. First time I’ve had this happen.
Goodbye Burlington. Had a great time in your wintery wonderfulness. You were -0 degrees this morning but the sun made it feel like 5 degrees. Thanks for the good memories!
Seeing Montreal with theses lovelies. Jamie is a perfect tour guide and has shown us some fantastic places, from the best pastries and cute shops and cafes to a magnifique spa on a barge. More fun today and it’s still snowing! @ Montreal, Quebec
Well Montreal is proving to be delightful, cold and snowing. Yay! It was 8 degrees and a winter wonderland. Off to a spa then the garment district. Ahhhhh winter! @ Old Montreal
So much yarn. Stop on by for some sweet deals today. #handdyedyarn #handdyersofinstagram #sweetsale

I am loving these new colors and new yarn. It’s rug yarn, very coarse and durable. Purrrrrrrfect for rug punching projects. Soon to be on the website. I’ll have various thicknesses too. #rugpunching #rugpunch @ Dancing Leaf
Color is happening! Dancing Leaf Dyeworks is hitting the dye pots.
Back to my dye pots. Getting ready for my Sweet Sale February 15. Dirty Martini, Bed Hive, and all the sprinkles lined up. #handdyersofinstagram #handdyed #handdyedwool #wool #yarn #dyeing @ Dancing Leaf
Crafting time. Stitching, cutting, stuffing and solving lots of the world’s problems. And eating and white wine helps too. #crafting @ Boyds, Maryland
My not-on-purpose felted Teeswater curly strand. I know spinners that try to achieve this but I accidentally felted the locks together. So when presented with lemons.......
So I picture this as something the Queen would wear, if she had Teeswater sheep and she was a hippie and she wanted to make a statement! #goforit #teeswater #locks #sheep #handdyersofinstagram @ Dancing Leaf
I didn’t mean to but my veggie garden is ready for planting. Probably won’t happen for 6-7 weeks but with the temps being 63 today, I couldn’t resist. Cleaned out the sheep barn and chicken coop and put it all on the beds. #aheadofthegame
Experiment. ‘Dirty Martini’. Only four for now. Sick Hop fingering. #handdyedyarn #handdyersofinstagram #martini
Been busy on the felting table. #nunofelting #felting
January is cold but my yarn is warm! - https://mailchi.mp/dancingleaffarm/whats-up-at-dancing-leaf-farm-3173041
Color for February but available early. It’s not quite that cold but these colors are so wintry it’ll feel good knitting them by the fire binging Netflix. #handdyersofinstagram #handdyedyarn #knittersofinstagram #knitting #polarvortex
Oops. Correction to the date. Saturday, February 15.
FINALLY finished my first ever wall weaving. I took the class from Anne Choi in the fall of 2018 (amazing and patient teacher) and I found a perfect piece of driftwood from a San Francisco beach and attached it. I’ve gathered up more yarn, roving, feathers, textures, lace, locks and even dog hair to start another. #annchoi #weave #weaving #roving
Never tire of this view of Harper’s Ferry. A nice hike up the ‘hill’ across the river.
New project for me. Renate taught us this technique (I call it Holey Moley). I forgot to add the silk gauze underlayment but I guess it’s wearable anyway. Don’t forget the camisole! #nunofelting #felt #handdyersofinstagram
My Exordium Shawl is coming along nicely. It’s my Netflix, Prime, HGTV companion. Knit with my Shimmy yarn in 2 different colors although they look very similar. #bingeknitting #knittersofinstagram #handdyedyarn
