Bridge Community Church of Loudoun

Bridge Community Church of Loudoun Christ. Community. Life. "I have given you an example, go and do likewise." - Jesus Christ - John 13:15
(21)

Whether you're just visiting, looking for a new church to call home, or even just interested in seeing what we are all about, we would love to have you join us. KIDS: We have a lively and engaging kids program setup where your kids will both learn and play, all in the context of biblical teaching. Groups are divided based on age, and the lessons are tuned specifically to reach children where they are. WHAT TO EXPECT: We have a team of friendly greeters that will meet you at the door and answer any questions you might have. They can also quickly point you to the kids check-in, the bathroom, or the fresh coffee that we have brewing. Our worship music is contemporary, though we do try to mix it up when we can, and try to keep things as dynamic and upbeat as possible. We have our kids worship along with us, though the nursery is manned for our youngest of guests, and dismiss them to children's church shortly thereafter. Mailing Address; 44050 Ashburn Shopping Plaza, Suite 195 #237, Ashburn, VA 20147

A WORD FROM THE WISE
If you heard God's audible voice one night, while laying in bed, and He asked you what gift you might want, what would you request? Consider the idea that this is God Almighty asking the question. Your answer would reveal your deepest desires. Solomon asked for wisdom, when he faced a similar life scenario. Near the end of his life, Solomon wrote the Book of Ecclesiastes, summarizing lessons he had learned along the way. Join us this Sunday as we seek to glean some nuggets of wisdom from the man who was said to be the wisest man in history. Hope to see you then!

We are resuming our Live, In-Person, In-Building Services, this Sunday, June 14th, 2020 at 5pm!

- Please be aware of the following requirements for returning to church this week...

- Be Safe: if you are feeling sick or have compromised immune systems you are welcome to continue worshiping safely from home.· No one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19, or known exposure to a COVID-19 case in the prior 14 days, is permitted in the building.

- No Childcare Provided: due to kids not understanding the 6 feet distancing. Kids are welcome but they must stay with their parents at all times.

- Please Wear a Mask At All Times: If you do not have one, we will provide them (courtesy of Jeff & Priscilla Shi).

- Social Distancing: Please respect the 6 feet social distancing, although you can sit with family and house members.

- Please Respect Others: Everyone feels differently about COVID-19. While some feel comfortable approaching others, many do not. Please respect the distance and the fact that some people are in a higher risk category.

- Are the Cravens Contagious? Will, Sandra, Capri and Skye have all been given a Kaiser assurance that they have not been contagious for the past 12+ days and they have been interacting with others. They cannot get the virus again for at least 4-6 months, so they are safe.

We Are Fragile
When you are trying to find something safe and solid to put valuables in, I would bet you do not use a clay jar. My mom had a few clay pots sitting outside of our home when I was a teenager, and I recall it being difficult to move them without cracking them. Despite the fragility of a clay jar, 2 Corinthians, chapter 4 compares us to jars of clay with treasure inside. God's Spirit resides in every believer and He is the treasure we carry in our frail bodies.

Join us this Sunday, as we return to meeting together, and consider the amazing truth, that God's treasure resides in us. Hope to see you then! Please adhere to our requirements for returning to our building this week.

Blessed Are The Peacemakers

What does it mean to be a “peacemaker” in 2020? What does it require to step into our identity as “ministers of reconciliation"? Join us this Sunday, as we have an open discussion with Pastor Tony Smith of the Word Church 2.0, and Marriage Mentor Laura Gethers from Capital Community Church; both located in Ashburn, Virginia. Tony and Laura serve as spiritual leaders in African American churches, so I invited them to share their perspective. In order to fulfill the second greatest command and “love our neighbor as we love ourselves,” we must first seek to understand what it’s like to be our neighbor. I hope you can tune in at 5:00 pm this Sunday, June 7th, on our page. Pastor Will.

Every family has some level of dysfunction. Can you think of any dysfunction or unhealthy areas in your family of origin?

After the prophet Nathan confronted David regarding his sin, he wrote Psalm 51. Although he took responsibility for his wrongdoing, the knock-on impact to his family was a total disaster, not to mention dysfunctional.

Join us this Sunday on Facebook at 5 PM as we consider lessons we might learn from the life of David, mistakes and all!

King David made a series of poor choices in the latter part of his life and leadership. In 2 Samuel 11, the first poor choice was not joining his troops in battle. That single choice was followed by a series of other bad decisions on his part.

In chapter 12, the prophet Nathan went to confront King David. Not a safe move, considering he had already killed one man in an attempt to cover his sin.

Join us this Sunday as we explore lessons learned from David's failures and his interaction with Nathan the prophet. Hope to see you on Facebook at 5 PM!

To all BridgeFeeds family members,
We need volunteers to help with BridgeFeeds next Monday 5/25. Specifically, we are looking for volunteers who have not worked at BridgeFeeds last Monday 5/11 and have not been exposed to anyone with Coronavirus. If you are available and can help out either in the morning from 10am to 11am or in the afternoon from 5pm to 7pm, please contact Kurt directly at 571-353-9842 or at [email protected]. We need 4 people in the morning and 4 people in the afternoon next Monday. This will greatly reduce the impact to the needy families who rely on BridgeFeeds food ministry.
Blessings. Kurt.

David Waiting on God - Bridge Service May 17, 2020

Today we are talking about how King David must have felt when he had been annointed king and yet had to wait so many years before realizing the promise. How do you handle waiting? Join us for an opportunity to consider that and so much more!

If you have been reading along with the daily YouVersion bible app, then you have been tracking David, as he has been hiding from the jealous King Saul. It's interesting to note that he was anointed as the new king by the prophet Samuel years earlier and yet was unable to realize the actual promise.

Have you ever had to wait for a promise? We are living in a period of waiting during this unprecedented time of quarantine. How do you trust God when He asks you to wait?

Join us this Sunday via Facebook Live, as we unpack some of the golden nuggets from the life of the man who pursued God's heart. Hope you can tune in then!

Our Story

HISTORY: In 2007, New Life Church in Chantilly, Virginia launched a church service in Ashburn, Virginia. The new service was led by Pastor Mike Epps, who adopted the name J10, as the official Ashburn campus name. J10, was taken from John 10:10, focusing on Jesus’ words, “I came that you might have life, and have it to the full.” The church met in numerous schools and a hotel in Ashburn as Mike faithfully led J10 Church for approximately 7 years. In the summer of 2014, Mike resigned to pursue a career in business. The church hired Will Cravens as their new lead pastor in September of 2014. In spring of 2015, the church moved from Embassy Suites in Ashburn to their present location on Red Rum Drive.

In addition, after the entire church took a time to prayerfully consider the direction forward, leadership felt led to make some changes. With numerous churches meeting in Ashburn every Sunday morning, the church decided to begin holding services on afternoons at 5pm, to become a church for those who may be unable to attend on Sunday mornings.

Secondly, we took time to consider our CORE VALUES. We defined them as: 1. Love God (Consider what this looks like on a daily practical level) 2. Love Each Other (Community - Actually care for others at our church) 3. Love the Church (Local, National & World-wide that make up the Body of Christ) 4. Love Everyone Else (Love those who do not believe in God or Christianity)

Thirdly, we decided to change the name of the church to fit the Core Values and direction of the church. We landed on the name BRIDGE COMMUNITY CHURCH, since we shared the desire for Bridge to be a place where we build bridges of relationship with God and with others. As God extended the bridge between humanity and Himself by sending His Son Jesus to come to earth and die for our sins, with the ultimate bridge being the cross of Christ, we believe we should follow His model. We seek to extend the love and grace of God in practical ways that compel us to love and serve here in our own community and beyond.

Lastly, our belief is that our service each Sunday at 5pm is merely a huddle. The huddle is only effective if people break from the huddle and make an impact on the field of play. We believe the field of play is everyday life and that our Sunday huddle/service should inspire and motivate us to love God and everyone else we come in contact with during our daily and weekly life routine. If you are looking for a new church to call home, you are more than welcome to join us on any given Sunday. If Bridge is not the right fit for you, we are equally happy to help you find a local church that is, since we are on the same team. We make it a habit of connecting with other local churches and doing what we can to build those relationships, so please let us know if we can help answer any questions as you seek a church to call home.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN VISITING: We have a team of friendly greeters that will meet you at the door and answer any questions you might have. Bridge is filled with people who care about our local community, our nation and the world. We believe strongly that faith should be lived out and not just a concept we consider on Sundays. With that said, we run a weekly food program (Celestial Manna) to feed the hungry, we volunteer at Loudoun Youth Shelter, we are involved with NoVAHTI to help eradicate human trafficking in our area; in addition to working with the homeless and running service projects around the globe with Leadership Excursions (www.leadershipexcursions.org).

KIDS: While our children start in the main service and join in the worship each Sunday, they then head to their classrooms for a lively and engaging kid’s program where they both learn and play, all in the context of biblical teaching. Groups are divided based on age, and the lessons are planned specifically to challenge the children on their level.

SERVICE: We have a weekly service at 5pm, with contemporary worship music, a lively children’s program and practical and inspiring teaching from the Bible. We offer light snacks and drinks each week and a potluck dinner on the first Sunday of every month following the service. ADDRESS: Our church address is: 21660 Red Rum Drive, Suite 188, Ashburn, VA 20147
