If you weren't already planning to come and join the community celebration of the Full Moon...make it your extemporaneous plan now. The Full Worm Moon marks the time that the worms are coming up from the once frozen ground, opening up the soil for the roots of trees and flowers to thrive for spring. It's gonna be stellar (as are the free S'mores). We gather at 6pm and stay until the crowd goes home. https://www.palmbeachdailynews.com/news/20200306/worm-moon-is-back-when-to-enjoy-its-peak-of-bright-rotundness

Mighty Girl Art

Here's the official announcement! Mighty Girl Art (formerly housed in Reston the last decade) has relocated their Summer Session to the Nature Center! June 22-26th Daughters (and Moms if you like to accompany) are invited to join in the outdoor magical creative process with our incredible friend and Master Naturalist Wendy. Wendy has created public art at the Nature Center these last five years with me and has supported our Youth Naturalist programs and 4-H programs as my side-kick chief lead these many years. She is an artist extraordinaire and I can't express how thrilled I am that she is willing to do her summer session at our location. Spots are limited to 12 so sign up now! https://mightygirlart.com/

Mighty Girl Art™ is an art empowerment workshop for girls (and moms) located in Northern Virginia.  We live in a society where a girl's self confidence is challenged daily by an assault of images which suggest that they are somehow not good enough the way they are. Mighty Girl Art™ empowers you...

We will harvest more in a couple months. Until then...just FYI

Honey makers are secretly “watering” down their honey with cheap syrups that have been impossible to detect until now. A new testing method has revealed nearly half of the honey sold in Australia, one of the world’s largest exporters of honey, is diluted with cheap sweeteners like rice syrup, ...

Should Children Be Taught How To Grow Food As Part Of Their Schooling?

Our children live in a fast-paced society, and their life has become much easier than the one we were used to. I know countless applications that can do their tasks and assignments instead of them, and they can type just a few words on their computers and find everything they need, without having to...

Could you please make sure the water bottle for the rabbits doesn't fall to the ground? I put it up for them on that rope (which doesn't hold it up at all) and when they finally got water, the rabbits drank for a long time. I was so sad for them that they were that thirsty.
