Due to COVID-19 and the requirements for social distancing, the Department of Economic Development has removed the requirement for public hearing but still require that we make the application available.
NEBRASKA AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAM FUNDS
Nebraska Affordable Housing Program Grant- NEHI, Inc. is requesting $20,000 each for two years for Operating Assistance. Funds will be used for day to day operating expenses. No people will be displaced as a result of Affordable Housing Program assisted activities.
Nebraska Affordable Housing Program Grant- NEHI, Inc. is requesting $125,000 for the Purchase/Rehab/Resell of 4 properties located in Antelope, Cedar, Knox, Dakota, Dixon, and Pierce Counties. Eligible households must have income at or below 120% AMI for the county in which the property is located. The funds will be allocated between lead base paint testing, general administration, and housing management. Program income of approximately $160,000 will be used to assist household with incomes less than 80% AMI. No people will be displaced as a result of Affordable Housing Program assisted activities.
The grant application will be available upon request for public inspection at NEHI, Inc. office, 110 East 2nd St Allen, NE or by email at [email protected]. All interested parties are invited to view the application and make comments or suggestions. Low income persons are particularly encouraged to view and comment and ask questions. Written testimonials are also welcomed!
NEHI, Inc. (Northeast Housing Initiative), a non-profit organization providing affordable housing in Northeast Nebraska, has an opening for a full time Executive Director. Preferred applicants should have experience with QuickBooks, grant writing, housing construction, fundraising, property management and working with a diverse population. Getting closer to our next build. A meeting is scheduled for Tuesday Aug 30th to look at applications and hopefully select a family. We are planning on working with the Wayne State College construction classes for our upcoming build. We will still have need for community volunteers.
