A Fiber optic line has been cut in southern Cedar County. Some long distance and 911 services have been impacted. Where possible 911 calls are being re-route to neighboring dispatch centers not affected by the Fiber Cut and the information is being relayed to the proper county dispatch via radio. The cut is also impacting the ability to make and receive long distance phone calls in many communities depending upon factors including who your long distance provider is. If your regular landline telephone can’t dial 911, you can try reaching Dixon County Sheriff’s Office 402-755-5608
Neighboring counties:
Cedar County SO Dispatch 402-254-6884
Knox County Sheriffs Office 402-288-4261
Pierce County Sheriffs Office 402-329-6346
Wayne County Sheriffs Office 402-375-2626

Repair crews have been dispatched to the site to repair the damage. It may take several hours for the company that owns the finer to make repairs. We will post updates once the finer has been repaired and more information is available.

Simply hang up immediately. This will protect you
