ASVA members may be aware that many state associations are distributing educational materials and a survey from the ASA, to assess support for legislation to add LAcs to the list of Medicare providers. Some ASVA Board members have concerns about some of these materials and about how the survey results will be used. We do want to find out how are members feel about becoming Medicare providers and will be reaching out to get your input.

What are the state regulations for treating minors? I had mom call wanting her teenage son to come in but she wasn't able to come with him. When I look it up online it looks like anyone under 18 needs parental consent ( I wouldn't count a phone conversation). Is that true?
Hi! Does anyone in ASVA do housecalls in South Arlington? I have a patient with post-concussion symptoms who would really benefit from a treatment. She can't currently make it to my office due to her symptoms, and my schedule is full for this week and I'm away next week. Both she and her husband have been patients of mine for some time, and I can vouch that this would be a safe environment for the practitioner. If anyone would be up for doing a housecall, please let me know. Thanks so much!
Help, please. Is there a simple list of currently licensed acupuncturists practicing in VA? An old patient has asked me for a referral.
Hi Everyone. I'm currently writing a health care policy paper on the pros and cons of this legislation as it affects Licensed Virginia Acupuncturists. In my Health Care Systems class, there have been a lot of debate as to whether this is going to be positive or negative for the field of Chinese Medicine. Because I am to focus specifically on Virginia and it's laws, does anyone have a strong opinion one way or the other that they wouldn't mind sharing via comment, private message or phone interview? When I write, I like to include interviews and "real life experience" as well as theory. Thanks in Advance. [email protected]
A woman with MS would like to receive acupuncture in her hip flexors with electric stimulation. Her acupuncturist of 10 years recently moved. She lives near Cameron Station, Alexandria. Any practitioners interested?
