Here’s the latest Virginia 4-H operating status update. Regardless of the operating status WE are here to help and support everyone with whatever you may need. #stayhome and #besafe

A #COVID19 update from #Virginia4H State 4-H Leader, Jeremy Johnson:

"I’m grateful to hear the stories of virtual club meetings, sharing of 4-H projects on social media, and 4-H curriculum being provided through food distribution sites for the many Virginia youth that do not have internet access at home. It is important to affirm the powerful and rapid response of our 4-H professionals, volunteers, and youth to create opportunities for connection and positive youth development when it is needed the most. This is 4-H; you #MakeTheBestBetter.”

Here's a great resource from our 4-H friends at Cornell Cooperative Extension.

Our members are experiencing an important moment in history. Being the eyes, ears and voice of history is an important task of citizenship. We also know that this is experience is stressful.
Journaling can be a helpful tool for stress coping and at the same time, can help youth record their history.
To assist youth in telling their story we have put together a journaling project/guide.
Please let us know if you have any questions, input and thoughts!

This guide is geared toward older youth:

General information

4-H youth development represents the youth component of Virginia Cooperative Extension. Virginia Cooperative Extension brings the resources of Virginia's land-grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University, to the people of the commonwealth. Understanding that knowledge is power, we place that power in the hands of Virginians and help them learn how to use it to improve the quality of their lives. Our Extension agents and specialists form a network of educators whose classrooms are the communities, homes, and businesses of Virginia, where they bring research-based solutions to the problems facing Virginians today. We are a product of cooperation among local, state, and federal governments in partnership with tens of thousands of citizens, who, through local Extension Leadership Councils, help design, implement, and evaluate our needs-driven programs.
