SEER Releases Results from the 2019: EOD, Summary Stage, and SSDI Reliability Study

The results from the 2019: Extent of Disease (EOD), Summary Stage, and Site-Specific Data Items (SSDI) Reliability Study have been posted. SEER thanks the individuals who helped make this study a successful one, especially the 700+ cancer registrars who participated. Based on your feedback, mostly notably your comments and suggestions, SEER was able to find many areas that needed clarification. Many of these clarifications were added to Version 1.7 releases of the SSDI and Grade Manuals, EOD and Summary Stage. Learn more at: https://seer.cancer.gov/qi/tools/reliability.html

Web-based reliability studies to test skills of registry personnel and measure consistency in applying coding rules. Each SEER registry receives their results.

Small effort- Big gain: Thinking about our access to Real World Data (RWD) and COVID-19. Let's take the initiative to collect the data about pts we're tracking who have the virus. Create a *structured field* a/k/a UDF for a dx with the confirmed or presumed virus. Sure, we'd absolutely put it in a text field. But think about the rich insights structured tracking will yield! We can do our part in this.
I know everyone is busy with family and friends planning for arrangements to work around this virus. If you have not cast your NCRA votes please make time.
