Last evening, Squad 1651, Engine 1653 & Utility 1643 responded to a 2 vehicle crash with entrapment involving a tractor trailer & a car at the 277 on/off-ramp of Interstate 80. Lake Harmony Fire/EMS & Lehighton ALS also responded.

Northeast Search and Rescue

Another successful search last night. The team responded to a call for a missing hunter, joining dedicated responders, including Albrightsville Volunteer Fire Company, Penn Forest Township Volunteer Fire Company #2, Lake Harmony EMS Main Station, Mahoning Valley Ambulance, Lehighton Ambulance Association, and PA State Police Trooper 5 (helicopter). All teams had to blaze trails through the thickest mountain laurel we have ever seen. Firefighters tried to chainsaw a path. Finally the teams just had to push through, under and over. We were grateful beyond words that the subject was able to walk (or crawl) out to us on his own accord. Otherwise, we would have had to use a helicopter with a basket to hoist him out. The response was amazing and all the teams and dogs worked extremely hard to get the subject to safety. We love happy endings. The hard work and dedication pays off.

12/06/2019

The members of the Albrightsville volunteer Fire Company along with fire districts 17, 22, Lake Harmony Ambulance, Mahoning Valley Ambulance (REHAB), Lehighton ALS, PA Turnpike, Trooper 5 (helicopter), and Northeast Search and Rescue responded to one of the longest search and rescues in the woods to locate and extricate a disoriented hunter. Units operated on seen for 13+ hours. We would like to thank everyone for there help in this operation and thankfully it came to a successful end.
