TorahTues POLL Spring 2021

trying to get some input for this semester's Torah Tuesdays: in-person vs. over-Zoom, which time slot works best and also looking for topic and medium suggestions. Current students, please take this short poll... thanks! https://forms.gle/W3eWkLBMAipshRmc8

as we plan for another semester of Torah Tuesdays, your input will help us choose the best timing and format, plus some new ideas. (Torah Tuesday will include dinner, a varied spectrum of learning topics, and almost always under an hour).

It was a beautiful long holiday season (despite Covid) and now it's come to an end (even as its spirit, memories and inspirational uplift lives on). Back to the everyday! Our Sukkah is down and put away, and we're now focused on making the rest of the semester (until Thanksgiving) as meaningful and memorable as possible, both with in-person and online events and opportunities.

Thanks to all who made our holidays special, from spirited distanced dancers on Simchat Torah to vigorous Sukkah Bike Lulav shakers, those who enjoyed our Rosh Hashanah packages to those who prayed with us here, those who sang the Sukkaleh Song with us or and those who sang it in quarantine, those whom we chatted with over messages, and all the beautiful, delicious, meaningful, warm, memorable holiday experiences we had together and apart this year.

Let's invest in our Jewish community and ourselves to make this rest of the semester safe, enjoyable, meaningful and connected! Best we can under these limiting circumstances!

As we go forward with the rest of the semester we will be be doing more of the pick-up/deliver to-go (and remote) alongside the in-person events, something that was harder at times for us to juggle during the long Jewish holiday season.

This week's RSVP form Sep 13-19 - everything during Covid is via RSVP: https://forms.gle/YKvKcu7vfJDq28Rv9

SH RSVP Sep 11-15

Good afternoon. Given the current situation at UAlbany, please read the following regarding this weekend at Shabbos House.
1. If you feel you may have been exposed in ANY way, please do not come and do Shabbat on your own this weekend.
2. If you are uncomfortable coming this weekend, please do not feel any pressure to come.
3. Students have been really good with the regulations at Shabbos House, from masking to distance-seating etc. Thank you! Hopefully this will allow us to keep staying open. Those coming this weekend, please be extra careful and cautious with the same.
We are going ahead with Shabbat dinner and lunch and the prayers before each. But we’re going to skip the 12:00am social component of Midnight Selichot. No music and such this year. Instead we’ll start at 12:45am with hot pretzels and smoothies (may all our twists smooth out) in the tent followed by an abridged Midnight Selichot prayer. Sunday Minyan Brunch will go ahead as planned.
All food at Shabbos House will be individual packaged and please respect (as you have!) the distanced seating and masks when not eating distanced.
Remember all Shabbos House events during Covid require prior RSVP. The form for this weekend is: https://forms.gle/3cK3UciQQ7Gk8XLd7
We do appreciate students respect for the regulations while here at Shabbos House but for this to really work we have to all make an extra effort to be responsible and cautious and do the safe thing wherever we are this semester.

we may upgrade to a better RSVP system soon, but for now we're using Google Forms. Requiring RSVP is not our usual way or style but is important and necessary now during Covid. The two times/shifts for some events allow us to keep within our distancing limits. Thanks for understanding.
