Black Lives Matter. ACG is foremost a COMMUNITY arts organization and we denounce the unforgivable, reoccurring racist acts. We stand with black, indigenous, and people of color in solidarity. We know that we can do better and we want to be better allies to help dismantle racism in our society. We are here to uplift and amplify your voices. We hear you.

If creating helps you process and heal, create. Share your voice YOUR WAY because black art matters, black voices matter, and black lives matter... always!

What can we do? Consider joining the call for art from Illuminate Theatre. Donate to local organizations that already amplify black voices like Citizen Action of New York, YWCA of the Greater Capital Region, Soul Fire Farm, and Center for Law and Justice.

Tag any other local organizations below that need support! There’s more work to be done.

The Creative Impact: Capital Region Artist Fund Raised over $10,000 to Support Local Artists!

The Creative Impact: Capital Region Artist Fund is presented by Acting with Aaron, Albany Barn, Albany Center Gallery, The Arts Center of the Capital Region, Collectiveffort, Creative Action Unlimited, D. COLIN, Youth FX, with support by The Community Foundation and United Way of the Greater Capital Region.

The Creative Impact: Capital Region Artist Fund was created to help alleviate some of the financial stress many are enduring, specifically the local artists. As of 5/12, the fund has raised $10,000+, received over 135 artist applications, and paid 80 artists (so far)! Payments to artists are in the form of $100 Visa Gift Cards and will continue to be distributed to artists until funds have been depleted.

The Fund is about $4,000 away from being able to fund the remaining artists who've applied! Thanks to a generous contribution of $1,000, your support will be matched up to this amount until May 24th. Donate today!

An individual artist/creative from the four counties of Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady who is suffering financial losses due to canceled events and projects because of the COVID-19 pandemic, in all disciplines, are invited to apply. (i.e. performances, readings, workshops, gigs, commissioned work, or other like opportunities). Funding and interest dependent, it may expand to include the other counties of the Capital Region as well, in the near future. Proof of address will be requested.

Artists who apply also have the opportunity to sell their art on Albany Barn’s website, and/or participate in Collectiveffort’s TV live stream series.

If you are a creative or know of an artist in need and would like to apply, please visit forms.gle/Jx2wsVkocHRQLGj88

We're excited to welcome Annette Nanes to our board of directors for the Fiscal Year 2021, what better day than to do it on her birthday! Happy birthday, Annette. She has been a long-time supporter of ACG and the local community arts scene, but this year she made the leap to bring our board of directors to 16 awesome community members. Thank you!

Hey culture seekers! I'm taking to poll to see how many of you would like to come on a 8 day Chef's tour of Sicily with me May of 2020? I give you a total immersion experience; amazing food, wine, farms, markets, art, culture, nature...and I have many friends there. Our price includes all travel and most meals too. The exact price is TBD but I can safely say it's in the mid 4k range, all in. If I get enough positive responses, I will put the itinerary together in the next week or so. Message me if you are extremely interested. We fly out of NYC
For August First Friday and the entire month we will be donating 15% of all art and jewelry sales to ACG.
Tony, is the "Ease Our Pane" campaign current? Also, I would consider some volunteering if you have staffing issues.. Ed
