SBA Administrator Guzman, Biden-Harris Administration Announce Community Navigator Pilot Program Grantees

Albany Community Together, Inc. (ACT!) is happy to announce our selection as a spoke with Georgia Micro Enterprise Network (GMEN).

IT'S OFFICIAL

Albany Community Together, Inc. to serve as a spoke under the SBA Community Navigator Pilot Program. ACT! will serve as a spoke with the Georgia Micro Enterprise Network (GMEN) to provide technical assistance and business development services to small businesses in Southwest Georgia. The program, established by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, will use a community navigator approach to help small businesses, with a focus on those owned by veterans, women, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals - including in rural and urban communities. The program is comprised of a lead “Hub” at the center of a network of “Spoke” organizations that deploy community advocates to work with small businesses during economic recovery. Recovery services can include financial assistance, access to capital supports, contracting and procurement assistance, marketing, operations, and business development, export and importing, and industry specific training, among other areas of technical assistance to aid businesses in stabilization and expansion.

The program offers funding to nonprofits, state and local governments, universities, and tribal entities to partner with SBA at the center of a hub and spoke network. These hubs then support spoke organizations -- trusted, culturally knowledgeable local groups and individuals -- who will connect to specific sectors of the entrepreneurial community to provide assistance during economic recovery. Albany Community Together, Inc. is excited to be a part of this historic effort to assist our small businesses, particularly those that are vulnerable, to full recovery.

For more information, please click the links below to see the official announcement. The GMEN Hub is one of two Community Navigator program chosen in Georgia.

About Us

ACT! is a public-private economic action partnership established in 1997 and a Certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) through the U. S. Department of Treasury whose mission is building wealth and creating economic opportunities by providing access to affordable capital and business support services.

ACT! provides financial assistance to small businesses that are not able to access traditional sources of capital. We work in partnership with banks to meet the credit needs of small business owners. Our programs serve to close the financial gap, to make the business owner “whole” financially. We help our banking partners meet their customers’ financial needs by providing “gap funding”. We help support the three prongs that leads to small business success, capital, coaching, and connections.

Since 2000, ACT! has helped small businesses access over $26 Million in capital through direct and private leveraging. ACT! is your small business resource partner. For more information contact us at (229) 420-4600.
