A huge shout out to Troop 3062 and Pack 3062 for supporting our local hereos!! Great job Scouts!!
Scouts from BSA Troop 3062 and Cub Scout Pack 3062 out of Scotia got together to show support for our local firefighters/paramedics. The Cub Scouts, as well as some older Scouts made thank you cards and posters. And the Troop took money they have collected through their bottle box donation bin next to Glenville Beverage and purchased pizza and soda. They then went to the Scotia Fire Department as well as Stations #1 and #2 of the Schenectady Fire Department and dropped them off.

Great job Troop 3054 for giving back to the community!!

Service opportunity...The Regional Food Bank's Patroon Land Farm needs help planting. They have about 40 acres, and usually can rely on school groups for help plant the crops. With school closed, the farm does not have the help they need. The 100,00 lbs of fresh vegetables from this farm are harvested and used by the Regional Food bank.

If you're interested in helping, check out their website and sign up: https://regionalfoodbank.net/volunteer-at-our-farm/

It's a low-risk opportunity to help out our community because you are outside, group size is limited, you can wear a mask, and can socially distance easily in the field.

Twin Rivers Council, BSA

To the Families and Volunteers of Twin Rivers Council,

Yesterday, the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America announced an increase to the annual membership fees. These increases are a result of the growing cost of delivering the Scouting program. The fee increase, affecting both adults and youth, is set to be implemented on August 1st for new members and during the next charter renewal phase for existing members.

There are two components to the registration fee paid by our members, the fee charged by Twin Rivers Council and the fee charged by National. While our Council is also facing financial challenges caused by the impact of COVID-19, our portion of the fee is not increasing. Please use the infographic provided as a tool to better understand the costs associated with Scouting in the Twin Rivers Council.

Our Council's vision is to be the leading youth organization in all of our communities and we understand that many in those communities are facing similar financial issues. We want to work with the units to assist families who need it most. We are working on ways we can do that and as more information becomes available, we will share it on our website and our social media platforms.

Thank you for your continued dedication to the youth of our movement. As we work through these challenges, we remain steadfast in our commitment to provide a life changing program that allows for our youth to learn, grow, and thrive.

If you have specific questions regarding these changes, please reach out to your district executive or email [email protected].

Over the last eight weeks, Scouts and Scouters in Upstate New York haven risen to the challenge of our times. Volunteers from across the Twin Rivers Council have worked tirelessly and flexibly to develop innovative new ways for our programs to continue. As each of us do our part for the health and safety of our families and communities, we have continued to Scout On with pride, delivering on our promise for thousands of youth.

How to Use Your Neckerchief to Make a Face Covering

Face masks and coverings do not take the place of social distancing or hand washing. Always stay home if you are ill or have been around someone who is ill.

Make sure your face covering fits the sides of your face snugly and comfortably and is made of multiple layers of fabric.
