In work, play, education, and even healthcare, we are using social media during COVID-19 to approximate “normal life” before the pandemic. In Screen Love, Tom Roach urges us to do the opposite. Rather than highlight the ways that social media might help reproduce the pre-pandemic status quo, Roach explores how Grindr and other dating/hookup apps can help us envision a radically new normal: specifically, antinormative conceptions of selfhood and community. Although these media are steeped in neoliberal relational and communicative norms, they offer opportunities to reconceive subjectivity and ethics in ways that defy normative psychological and sexual paradigms. In the virtual cruise, Roach argues, we might experience a q***r sociability in which participants are formally interchangeable avatar-objects. On Grindr and other m4m platforms, a model of selfhood championed in liberal-humanist traditions—an intelligent, altruistic, eloquent, and emotionally expressive self—is often a liability. By teasing out the q***r ethical and political potential of an antisocial, virtual fungibility, Roach compels readers to think twice about media typically dismissed as sordid, superficial, and narcissistic. Written for students, professors, and nonacademics alike, Screen Love is an accessible, provocative, and at times subversively funny read.

Hi! My name is kirck.i am an american philosopher.i would like to talk to a professor or a student about the physics and metaphysics.here is my phone number.(509)32272751.
End your dissection of live kittens! It’s an appalling USELESS archaic practice gaining global attention and revulsion! These are sentient intelligent animals LIKE HUMANS with distinct personalities and capable of feeling all the cruel pain you inflict! You are despicable. We shall work toward getting SUNY funding eradicated.
I have a reference in Hebrew referring to a Yiddish play from early in the 20th Century entitled "Hertzeleh Ha-Meyuhas" who was the author and what can you tell me of its history, please? It was presented in the town of Dubno (Ukraine) in 1907 at a theater named "Routusch" or something similar. Can you confirm this? Thank you.
Tuhkanen shows how Bersani, the "essentialist villain," has wielded the critical armory of essence against, but also within, the domain of what is construed as a pervasive ontology of loss, lack, and trauma.
splendid selection for the Autumn editorials...thank you dearly for the lists
Dear manager! I have written a number of books in Urdu and did a few translations from Bertrand Russell and Will Durant. Recently I read your book ,,A Parliament of Minds,,and found it wonderful.Though philosophers are not very popular among Urdu readers, yet I shall be glad to translate it if you can please permit me to do it. Thanks. Abdul Majeed
