~Ephesians 6:19-20~

"Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should."

The Rebuilding of the YWAM Nashville Wall

Prayer, volunteers and donations are the key ingredients of rebuilding the retaining wall. When you look at the detailed and beautiful finished product, the ones who saw the process over the past four years are screaming to tell you the whole story.

I am not sure who built the original wall, but it needed to be pulled down a little over three years ago when it began leaning dangerously. I do know that it took donations, wonderful volunteers and lots of prayer to see the rebuilding through, as the slope of the driveway beside it needed a drainage system along with the completion of the wall. Friends of YWAM donated the gravel and the cinder blocks that sat for years waiting for the skilled workers to put it all together. We had many engineering-minded friends come and make a plan, but they lived far away and didn’t have the necessary workers to see the job completed. We had teams of volunteers come and dig out parts of the wall and move the bricks with their hands and tractor, trying to make room for the work to be done.

Behind the scenes, our staff was praying for the completion of the wall and also for a deepening in our corporate and personal spiritual lives - working through repentance with one another and our personal walk with the Lord. Over the past three years, there has been a greater hunger and depth for the things of the Lord and I think we are seeing a physical representation of that in this wall.

Just before the coronavirus hit and lock-down began, the Lord had connected our staff with a local, skilled engineer (our Nehemiah) with a passion to serve. Next thing we knew, he was at our campus with his crew, starting the process with ease and precision and knowing when and how to create a sustainable yet beautiful wall, driveway, and drainage system.

Now was God’s perfect timing -- the time when all the pieces would come together and He would get to show His glory and provision! This gift from the Lord has caused our staff to respond with great joy and thanksgiving as we marvel at His faithfulness. It was a reminder to trust Him, listen for His voice and to let Him lead the projects. The project is done and relationship was made with our Nehemiah who wants to continue to bless and care for our campus. Thank You, Lord!

Last week our Staff and Leadership Training (SALT) attendees explored the history of YWAM and YWAM Nashville and learned:

YWAM Founder, Loren Cunningham, had a vision of waves of young people crashing on the shores of every continent in 1956 when he was just 20 years old! #dreamscometrue

And

Ruby Tackett, the original YWAM Nashville director’s wife, had a dream about the property where YWAM Nashville is now located the night before they came to check out the land... They purchased the current campus in 1994. #dreamscometrue

YWAM's Foundational Value #15 has been put into practice with our last DTS! YWAM affirms the importance of families serving God together in missions, not just the father and/or mother. Believing that each member of the family has different giftings to bring to the table. Here is a family that did just that on their outreach to Thailand!

All is safe and sound @ Ywam Nashville. We are pretty far north of the devastation. We had a team returning from Africa that was to arrive at the same time that the Tornado was touching down in Nashville but were kicked off of their plane for sickness and corona virus threat! Hazmat had to come and clean the whole plane and delay everyone’s arrival, so it may have saved the whole plane full of people! Thanks for all of the concerns from around the world! Our city is quite damaged, lives were lost, pray for those that have lost loved ones and whose homes need rebuilding!

Practicing hospitality is much more than making sure things are clean and neat when people come to your home. So what is hospitality and what does it accomplish?

As Debbie Rottier puts it, "Hospitality provides a free space that a stranger can enter and become a friend. It creates a safe place to be and says, "We value you". It ministers to people and refreshes their hearts. Gives them rest and rejuvenation. Hospitality is not an option, but a command:
"Take a constant interest in the needs of God’s beloved people and respond by helping them. And eagerly welcome people as guests into your home."
Romans 12:13 TPT

Hello everyone! I have a special request for (ex-)DTS'ers, please read along! :) Short version: What = survey ✅. Who = any (ex-)DTS'er 🚻. Why = proving DTS and Jesus are awesome ✝️. Where = tinyurl.com/YWAMILY ℹ️. How long = 10-12 minutes ▶️. Long version: I'm Marc and I hope to graduate this summer so I'm currently writing my bachelor thesis. The topic I'm researching is the relation between life-events like DTS, people's (psychological) well-being - meaning how happy people are and what their views on life are - and finally their relationship with God. To research this, I'm collecting data by distributing my questionnaire to as many (ex-)DTS'ers as possible so that in the end I can make a strong scientific statement. One of the questions discusses the countries you've been to for your DTS and/or outreach. I think I currently have around 40 countries represented which is awesome, but, I think together we can make this way more (let's say 80 countries?). All in all, I WOULD LOVE IT if you could help me out by answering some questions in my survey. Once I'm all done, I hope to make a video that I can send to everyone who filled it out to share all the results and personally thank you. Once again the link: tinyurl.com/YWAMILY Thanks in advance! Have an awesome day. Blessings, Marc
