Phase Three of the Governor's plan for reopening Minnesota goes into effect Wednesday.
The Adams Legion will be open at 50% capacity today, June 10, at 4:00 pm! We look forward to seeing our customers again! Please follow social distancing guidelines. If you have any symptoms of Covid-19, we hope you will stay home. Thank you for your support! Stay safe and healthy!
Due to the pandemic, this years Legion Memorial Day services were a bit different. For their safety, we did not ask the Band or the local Scout organizations to participate in the ceremony. The Color Guard and Honor Guard for the Legion, SAL and Auxiliary was on a strictly volunteer basis. We held the Ceremony on the Bridge, went to the Taopi Cemetery, the Marshall Lutheran Cemetery and the St John's Lutheran Cemetery in rural Elkton. Thank you to all who came to honor our departed brothers and sisters on this Memorial Day. Thank you to the Sheriffs Deputy for stopping traffic for the bridge ceremony, Joni Smith and Kyle Bergstrom for providing the sound system, Maddie Merten and Lexi Smith for playing TAPS at each location and the Color Guard and Honor Guards. To those who came to witness the ceremonies, we thank you for social distancing, wearing a mask or watching from your vehicle. It has been a few years since the weather cooperated for the Flag Burning Ceremony but this year we were able to do that. Again, thank you to everyone for honoring our departed Veterans on Memorial Day in person or in spirit. Please feel free to tag anyone in these photos. Thanks!

Every year, Adams American Legion Post 146 and Adams American Legion Auxiliary, award scholarships to Southland High School Seniors. The Legion awards two scholarships and the Auxiliary awards two scholarships. This years recipients were Olivia Hegge and Reece Tapp for the Legion and Emily Bhend and Jordan Nielson for the Auxiliary. Congratulations to these Seniors and all graduating Seniors of the Class of 2020. We wish you all the best as you head off to college or whatever path you pursue!
Adams Booster Club
The Adams Booster Club has decided to cancel Dairy Days 2020, scheduled for June 12 through 14, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The health and safety of our attendees, vendors and collaborators comes first and although this was a difficult decision we know it is the right decision," says the Booster Club Board. "To our sponsors, if you have already submitted your sponsorship donation we will hold your donation for Dairy Days 2021, to be held June 11 through 13."

Vernon Joseph Schaefer, 98, of Adams, MN, died Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the Minneapolis Veterans Hospital. Private family services are being held and a public memorial service will be announced at a later date.

The Adams American Legion held their Post Everlasting ceremony on Saturday, February 29, 2020.
The Legion holds the Post Everlasting ceremony every year, as a solemn and sacred moment to honor members who have died the past year. This was a beautiful and meaningful ceremony. We had a great turnout of family members to honor their loved ones.
