ELCA Youth Gathering
07/22/2020

ELCA Youth Gathering

After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to postpone next summer’s ELCA Youth Gathering to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2022 ELCA Youth Gathering will be held July 24-28, 2022, in Minneapolis, with the two pre-events, the Multicultural Youth Leadership Event (MYLE) and the tAble, scheduled for July 21-24, 2022.

We give thanks for your prayers and patience as we have worked through the details with our partners in Minneapolis and across the country. We hope that by postponing the Gathering for a year, individuals and congregations will feel more comfortable and prepared to attend the Gathering in 2022.

For more information about the 2022 Gathering, please visit elca.org/YouthGathering/COVID19. We will be updating our website and social media as more details become available.

We look forward to seeing you and experiencing the boundlessness of God in Minneapolis in 2022!

Bring a lawn chair and join us outside for worship this Sunday! 9:00 at Little Cedar and 10:30 at Marshall.

07/03/2020

Details are still being put together, but wanted to at least give a heads up so that you can mark your calendar. A Baccalaureate Service for the Southland Graduates will be held at the football field on Wednesday, July 15th at 7:00pm. Attendees will be asked to bring a lawn chair and follow recommended guidelines for social distancing. Thanks and blessings!

We were able to donate 3 beds to the family in need. Thanks for those donations! They could also use a small kitchen table and chairs, and a dresser. Let Pastor Jeremy know if you have something at 507-481-4394

07/03/2020

Greetings Little Cedar and Marshall Lutheran Churches,

We wanted to give you all an update on worship. We will continue to meet outside for worship when possible. Being outside greatly reduces the risk of spreading the virus and allows for us to more fully have worship experience. When weather is not favorable, we will hold a service inside, but with additional precautions being taken, such as no singing. We will record one of the services and post the service online so that everyone can still participate in worship in whatever way works best for them. This Sunday, July 5th, Little Cedar will worship at 9:00, Marshall at 10:30.

Also, starting on July 12th, we will be holding services on Sunday evening, instead of in the morning. The evening may be a bit cooler and may just also be a nice change of pace during summertime schedules. Little Cedar will have worship at 6:00, and Marshall at 7:30.

There is still the possibility of canceling in-person services should it be deemed necessary as things change. In this case, Pastor Jeremy would post an online service as in the past. If you have any input, please let Pastor Jeremy know, or a council member.

Thanks and blessings!!!

Please keep in your prayers, Michael Beck, cousin of Kristina Matheis. He has a very aggressive terminal cancer. He has recently lost all feeling in his feet and is going blind in one eye. He is rapidly deteriorating and is in a great amount of pain. He could use a lot of prayers right now.

Prayers also for Wayne Underdahl, who is currently being hospitalized.

06/28/2020

Welcome to worship!

06/28/2020

Looks like nice weather this morning for us to have services outside! Please bring a lawn chair. I’ll post a recording of the service this afternoon.

06/24/2020

Little Cedar and Marshall will once again have worship at their regular times this Sunday. If weather is favorable, we will likely have the service outside. In the case of poor weather, we will make our way inside with some additional adjustments to how we worship. In the case of worship in the sanctuary, please make sure to bring a mask. Thanks and blessings!

These sunglasses were found in the grass at Little Cedar yesterday. They are in the office if they are yours!

Here is worship from this morning! Happy Father’s Day and blessings to everyone!

06/20/2020

It is looking like the forecast is going to hold out for us tomorrow morning. Please join us for outdoor worship at 9:00 for Little Cedar, and 10:30 for Marshall! Bring a lawn chair and a mask! See you there!

06/19/2020

Hello Everyone! Alright, so here are a couple of things for Sunday morning. Little Cedar will worship at 9:00 by Peace Garden. Marshall will worship at 10:30 out by the cemetery. Please bring a lawn chair and mask. Especially as you are up interacting with other people, we’d ask that you wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. We will take a look at the forecast tomorrow and let you know if we will be postponing the outdoor service until next Sunday.

06/18/2020

Update. Thanks to those that donated beds. Should be good on those! Unless someone has a full size bed. They are also in need of a small dining room table and chairs.

There is a family in need that is in search of beds. Twin beds are probably the best, but I’m sure they’d take whatever. Let us know if you have any you’d like to donate. Pastor Jeremy can be reached at (507) 481-4394 Thanks!

It has been reported that scammers have once again been sending emails to congregation members that impersonate Pastor Jeremy and ask for help. Please ignore and delete these immediately.
