And what a final it was!! Congratulations to the finalists and to all the participating teams, we hope they had just as much fun pleading as we had judging!

Tension is mounting as the race to become the 2015 winner of the Moot Court competition on the European Convention on Human Rights enters its final moments.

Two days ago, teams from Austria, Croatia, Greece, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom, began pleading a fictitious case at the European Court of Human Rights.

This afternoon, the winning legal squad will be announced. Members will take up an internship at the European Court of Human Rights. The best orator will follow a training programme at the Council of Europe’s Brussels office.

The competition is organised by the European Law Students Association (ELSA), with the support of the Council of Europe.

Happy New Year! Let's start it with some useful information for those who had legal trouble last year and want to bring their complaints to the ECtHR.
In case you wish to lodge an application before the Strasbourg Court, please note the changes occurred as of 1 January 2014.
A very useful video had been produced by the Court to sum up what you need to know in order to apply. So before starting to fill in your application form, take 4 minutes to watch this: http://youtu.be/mA_iGhvxYFM
