The Global Buildings Performance Network - GBPN Find the best information on Buildings Energy Efficiency and Performance worldwide! The GBPN is a non-profit organisation based in Paris, France.

Launched by the ClimateWorks Foundation in 2011 as a Best-Practice Network, the GBPN advances knowledge and expertise globally on building energy performance to inform ambitious policy-packages. Through Regional Building Performance Hubs in four priority regions (Europe, the U.S., India and China) and a Global Centre in Paris, the GBPN elevates and shares best local and regional expertise and lessons learnt.

Tomorrow marks the launch of an important GBPN initiative in India aimed at decarbonising the residential building sector. JINDA (meaning Alive in Hindi) will meet for the first time to lay the foundation for its mission to ensure adoption, compliance, and enforcement of the Energy Conservation Building Code (ENS) for Affordable Housing. JINDA is composed of a state-based alliance of local experts.

Tomorrow marks the launch of an important GBPN initiative in India aimed at decarbonising the residential building sector. We are delighted to be part of the winning Consortium to support ENS implementation for Affordable Housing across southern India. GBPN, LEAD and Pithavadian and Partners have joined forces to support byelaws for Thermal Comfort and Climate Resilience in Affordable Housing in Southern India.
The project is operating under the ongoing Indo-German Technical Cooperation (IGEN), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). It will focus on amending byelaws in the Local Government framework and support the implementation of the Light House Project (LHPs), in Chennai, Tamilnadu. GBPN as a knowledge partner will guide the project team to facilitate the Housing for All program under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in the South Cluster (comprising of 8 States/UTs).
The Government of India has been implementing its flagship programme- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Urban (PMAY-U) since 2015 to fulfil the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to provide ‘Housing for All’ by 2022.
