Congratulations to the all of the Young Musicians who participated at the Clandeboye Festival in Co Down in August!
The winner of the Ireland Fund of France bursary will be announced by Camerata Ireland at the end of October. We invited last year's winner, Alison Comerford, to tell us about how the grant had helped her,

"At this time last year I was one of the Clandeboye Young Musicians 2014. I had just transitioned from playing the violin to the viola and this was my first proper outing as a true viola player. It was an amazing time for me and at the end of the course I was granted the Ireland Fund of France Award.
I did not foresee how much this would change me as a person over the following year. During the year I travelled to France 7 times to have viola lessons. The experience opened up a new cultural world for me and not only did I grow as a musician but I also became a more well rounded person. I was able to improve my French and to meet many new people. I would love to take this opportunity to thank the Ireland Fund of France Award for such a wonderful year".

Our thanks to all of you who help us to support Camerata Ireland and young people like Alison.

At this year's Clandeboye Festival the following bursaries and awards were made to the young musicians studying with international tutors at the Festival. The Festival continues today and tomorrow with concerts by Camerata Ireland conducted by Barry Douglas and a children's event on Saturday at Noon Clandeboye Courtyard.

The Flax Trust bursaries to: Miriam Kaczor, Killian White and Rachel Wolsey
And the Flax Trust Overall award: Mairead Hickey

The Alan Gillespie Ulster Bank Award to: Amy Gillen

And the first Audience Award went to: Killian White
