DEADLINE EXTENDED: OPEN CALL: ARTS AND CULTURE UNDER PRESSURE ONLINE LAB
open opportunity for Robert Bosch Alumni members and also for external collaborators

REGISTRATION FORM: https://easy-feedback.de/umfrage/1252822/9qII7U

key words: Civic Education/Community Arts/Cultural Spaces/Culture & Innovation/Social Cohesion & Inclusion/Social Innovation/Urban Governance/

Dear members of the Bosch Alumni Network, and our external colleagues, We are glad to announce our open call for ARTS AND CULTURE UNDER PRESSURE online digital Practitioners’ Lab!
Deadline for submitting the applications: 19th October 2020 /extended for a week/
Planned dates of the Practitioners’ Lab: second half of November – beginning of December 2020

Background:
Art and Culture Under Pressure (ACUP) has been initiated in 2019 by organisations from Turkey, Egypt, Hungary, Serbia and Croatia, and MitOst. Last December we organised a Practitioners’ Lab in Zagreb with 20 participants from 15 countries. The meeting, implemented within the Bosch Alumni Network and organized by MitOst, tackled different aspects of autonomy of art and culture, resilience against political pressure that is specifically strong in certain countries.
The participants concluded the Lab with the joint intention to continue the conversation, the knowledge sharing and eventually the common work towards a shared goal.
What is the ACUP online Practitioners’ Lab about?
Speaking in general terms, this time we would like to contribute to map the transformation of the term PRESSURE and the re-configuration of key pressure points when it comes to culture and the arts in the wider social contexts in 2020. New types of crisis are introducing us to new ways of developing resilience.
Let’s gather on a 3-days online conference / exchange / seminar / digital Practitioners’ Lab that will take place once a week in three consecutive weeks during the second half of November and beginning of December to exchange our perspectives, share knowledge and observations, engage in peer-to-peer learning modules, re-network with our colleagues from the Bosch Alumni Network community, and hopefully go out of this experience better prepared for future challenges and new projects!
We aim at organizing a tailor-made meeting where the talks, peer-to-peer learning sessions and workshops would be designed based on the participants’ interest and needs.
Participant profile
Members of the Bosch Alumni Network, cultural managers, changemakers, curators, artists from all around the globe.
Working language: English

How can you get engaged?
- Contribute to the agenda by expressing your wishes, ideas, questions to be tackled, issues to be discussed, competences to be developed. You are invited to share with us your expectations and needs in our registration form – what would you like to see and experience at the Lab, what new skills, methodologies would you learn, whom would you like to meet and get networked with, which international experts would you hear running a master class, on what topic/s?
- Contribute to the agenda by offering your own expertise. Do you have some special skill, some tips how to survive challenging situations, want to host an online workshop / talk / master class / debate? If you do, you are kindly asked to submit a concept in max 100 words by 5th October that will be evaluated by our jury composed of invited experts from the BAN community, and the initiators and organisers of the ACUP Lab. The selected contributions can be finalised until 5th November and they will be part of our final documentation pdf. A symbolic remuneration is waiting for you for your contribution.
- Contribute to the learning process by offering your experiences and knowledge to our pdf publication that will include written and visual material about various case studies, interviews, diaries, maps etc illustrating the transformation of concept of “pressure“ in various local realities through 2020 – as an applicant for this process you are kindly invited to send us a 100-words synopsis for such research, that can be anything that your highly developed cultural manager radar has detected as interesting in your environment in 2020. Someone who inspires you, or makes you uncomfortable, someone you see as a good model to be multiplied, your hero, complice, or someone totally unknown, maybe your own diary documenting some interesting process, an interview with someone, case study, photo journal, sketchbook? We do not care which methods, style or form you use as long as you do tell an interesting, insightful story about 2020 and how it influenced your or someone else’s feeling, perception and dealing with pressure, with strong emphasis on ways out, solutions, resilience, crisis management and impacts. We want to have at the end one very cute and multi-perspective collection of stories and materials as a document about this year that made us/and still is making us all learn a lot! We prioritize contributions which are not describing isolated cases but can serve as a source or inspiration and models for learning or developing also for the other participants and the future readers. Your proposal will be evaluated by our jury composed of invited experts from the BAN community, and the initiators and organisers of the ACUP Lab.
The authors of the selected proposal will be given 3 more weeks to work on finalizing it, preparing both text and visual contribution to the documentation. The final work version will be symbolically remunerated.
If you are interested to participate or contribute to the ACUP Practitioners’ Lab, please fill the REGISTRATION FORM: https://easy-feedback.de/umfrage/1252822/9qII7U

Deadlines:
- Open call is open until: 19th October 2020 /deadline extended for a week/
- First round selection of contributors by the multidisciplinary jury team: 30TH October 2020
- Time to work on finalizing the agenda and conducting researches / contributions to the pdf publication: 9th November 2020
- Implementation of the Lab: three consecutive Fridays or more likely Thursdays in November and December (still to be fixed)

So happy to work with Austrian artist SKIRL on his turbo-route through Serbia this September! first stop will be at Festival Rekonstrukcija 2019 II Ajmo napolje! street art fest in Belgrade. Thanks to EUNIC AiR program and Austrian Culture Forum in Belgrade for their generous support, and to Johannes Mundingerr for joining Vladimir Palibrk as co-curator in our small team of Street Art Residencies project! Wallz of Serbia here we go again, one more round before the autumn!

One more great work this year by our guest Johannes Mundinger , using traditional architecture from North Serbia as a canvas, this time in city of Novi Sad. Big up goes to Chain Reaction initiative for their great support in scouting for wall! #iPortunus #StreetArtResidencies2019

Johannes Mundinger: "Most of the times I don´t reveal the exact ideas behind my work because it narrows all possible definitions everyone comes up in his/her mind to just one certain description.

The wall here has taken its inspirations from two sides, one just next to it, in the neighbour house. It consists of a white building with a stripe of yellow bricks going through, from one side to the other.

That made me think of paintings i have seen during a month as artist in residence in Korea, paintings of the Korean 18th century, typicaly on folding screens. The motives are usually shelfs showing the belongings of it´s owner, books, vases, status symbols of that time.

I didn´t want to illustrate this realistically, but have it as a base, showing this as a vague idea, that keeps interpretation open."

Mural se nalazi u ulici Teodora Pavlovica. Bacite se u zagrljaj apstraktne umetnosti koja otvara potpuno novu dimenziju streetart-a, ali menja i naš doživljavaj gradske stvarnosti.
