Bye, bye Beijing...

The 19th ICOM-CC Triennial Conference in (virtual) Beijing has come to a close... it has been a great experience on so many levels.

3 years of planning and looking forward to coming together in Beijing in September 2020 seemed to be an impossibility a year ago.

It is incredible and inspiring how so many individuals and teams across the World have worked together in making this conference a virtual reality over the last week.

Needless to say, we all have missed the fantastic company of old and new friends, the cultural programs, the coffee and tea breaks, the dinners and the random chats and encounters that make ICOM-CC conferences such a great event.

But the National Organizing Committee and Technical support in China have provided a truly engaging experience and many new opportunities for outreach and collaboration through digital and communication media have appeared on the horizon.

You can view the entire conference content by registering here: https://www.icom-cc2021.org/conferenceregistration.aspx and have access to all the recorded 150 paper presentations (and publication) and posters until 17th of June.

谢谢北京 !
Thank you Beijing!

Dr. E. Carmen Ramos Curator of Latinx Art and acting Chief Curator at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, has been named Chief Curator at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. The goal of Ramos’s work has often been to counter the “exclusionist histories” that have kept Latinx Art out of mainstream institutions. “I wanted to challenge that exclusion in this hallowed space where I work,” she said of the Smithsonian American Art Museum in DC. https://www.artnews.com/art-news/news/e-carmen-ramos-national-gallery-of-art-chief-curator-1234592791/?fbclid=IwAR0FJGMGnCh0GUD510wvzut6Tc92qqXtsz9-xkNV_SKkYPUqjC6UyOqEdgw
