Camellia Epicurean Dinner
Passion, Taste, Goodness, Purpose: That’s how Dilmah Tea honoured the world’s most experienced teamaker on the 8th of September. The intimate Camellia Epicurean dinner to celebrate Merrill J. Fernando’s 70 years in tea, equally celebrated the versatility of tea and Sri Lankan culinary art. The 3 commemorative teas, picked by Merrill’s sons, Dilhan and Malik Fernando, inspired Cinnamon Lakeside’s Executive Chef Kapila Jayasinghe to invent a menu featuring tea gastronomy, tea mixology and tea theatre. These special teas were also paired with a special performance by Maestro Ravibandhu Vidyapathy, who was inspired by our concept of ‘Tea in Five Senses’. It was a night of Passion and Taste, combined with Goodness through the respect for tea, and Purpose – as all those who attended were invited to look beyond disability with a special guest performance by the youth of MJF Foundation - The Merrill J.
