Dear students of the Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne,
The situation you are facing today is difficult, we know that. You came to Paris to enjoy the city, to learn French face-to-face with our excellent teachers. And now you have to take distance courses. Be sure that our administrative team is at your disposal to help you and accompany you as much as you need.
For a better quality of service, we are building a platform of courses, which will allow students, whether in person or by distance learning, to have a pedagogical account, to access content, and to interact with teachers and other students. This platform will be available in a few weeks. You will be able to use it as long as you are students at the CCFS and even after, when you become an alumni. Our platform will be the way to keep in touch.
We also have a second very important news: the Foundation is moving in a few days! Indeed, the premises on Raspail Boulevard are no longer adapted to our activities, they have become too inflexible for a pedagogy that is evolving. So in September 2021, we will move to the Hotel Vogüé, at 18 rue de Martignac, located between the Rodin Museum and the National Assembly; between the Invalides and Saint-Germain des Prés; a stone's throw from the Musée d'Orsay, in a setting illustrating French culture where you can feel at home.
However, heavy work remains to be done in order to make the spaces flexible for our activities.
We will therefore transit for a few months through 141 rue de Saussure, in the 17th arrondissement, near the Batignolles district. It is a more modest building but just as comfortable.
I am not in a position, today, to tell you if it will be possible for those who are able to come and finish their session in our premises on rue de Saussure. Indeed, the government does not reopen the universities until the beginning of February. If we see a legal possibility to have you come back before then, we will do so.
To make up for the inconvenience of a distance learning session that did not correspond to what you ordered, I am pleased to announce that the Cours de Civilisation Française will offer you one month of the upcoming session of your choice, either face-to-face or distance learning. It will be either a one-month session or a month of a longer session. This offer will be valid from the beginning of 2021 to the end of 2022.
See you soon!
Édouard Husson, Président
Bernard Franco, Directeur des CCFS
