Poster For Tomorrow

Poster For Tomorrow poster for tomorrow is an independent, non-profit organisation whose goal is to encourage people, both in and outside the design community, to make posters to stimulate debate on issues that affect us all.
In the last four years, we’ve grown from being an annual poster contest to organising and hosting activities throughout the year all around the world. In our first call for entries we said: “One poster is a start, but one hundred, one thousand, constitute a movement that can’t be denied.” Well, four years and thousands of posters later, we feel that we’re on the way to becoming a genuine movement. We’re not just poster for tomorrow, we’re 4 Tomorrow, an organisation that hosts debates, seminars, conferences, workshops and exhibitions in schools, universities and governmental institutions. We’ve had the support of The United Nations Democracy Fund, UNESCO and Amnesty International and many more. We’ve been to every continent in the world and we continue to grow every year.
(76)

We are men and women around the world who believe that a poster, a simple, arresting image combined by a powerful piece of text, can be a force for change. A poster that when posted on a wall or on the net can make somebody sit up and take notice of an injustice and inspire them to take action. And that’s what we hope to do – to try and stop injustice. To campaign for freedom of expression, the universal abolition of the death penalty, the right to education and gender equality for all. And all this by making a poster, by starting debate and encouraging people to realise the power they have to change the world and make a difference.

Mission: poster for tomorrow is an international project to promote active citizenship through the medium of design.

Fake News - 2020 Vision | Call for Entries is open!

We are pleased to announce that poster for tomorrow's 11th edition, “Fake News – 2020 Vision”, is now officially open. You have until Wednesday the 20th May to enter the contest and submit your poster entries to our website.

Perhaps the least said about fake news, the better. There is, sadly, no escaping it, literally or figuratively, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t do anything about it. Whatever your politics or beliefs, it is only facts and open debate that will help us move forward together, instead of further entrench us in our positions as fake news intends.

Reducing the carbon footprint of our judging process
To reduce our carbon footprint we will organise our live judging sessions to coincide with a international design event. In this way we can assemble the jurors without asking them to make another significant journey. This year the judging will take place in Lecce, Italy in partnership with "Conversazioni sul futuro", We are very grateful for the festival's support [https://tinyurl.com/rpq8m6s]/

We would like to thank Yang Liu who kindly accepted to lead our visual campaign. To see more of her artwork, please click here [yangliudesign.com].

Poster for tomorrow in 2019 and 2020
At the start of the year we decided to skip our traditional poster contest and to focus showcasing the best of the posters we received over the last decade.
Significantly, this allowed us to properly analyse what we have done previously and what we want to do in the future. So far there is one thing that we can tell you for certain: from now on poster for tomorrow will be a biennale.
We would like to invite you to read our press release (available in 15 languages here):

October 10th is the World Day Against the Death Penalty
For this 17th anniversary, the goal is to raise awareness on the rights of children whose parents have been sentenced to death or executed. Children are unseen victims of the death penalty.
The poster is a command from World Coalition Against the Death Penalty and made by Francesco Poroli in collaboration with poster for tomorrow.

The Journal Frankfurt issue 07/2019 is tackling Gender Inequality!
"Gender Equality Now" was our 2012 poster competition subject and we received some 3020 contributions from 133 countries. So far we have been involved in holding and hosting over 390 exhibitions, 100s of debates and publications.
For their July cover, Journal Frankfurt published "Read Me" designed by Massimo Dezzani and says: “In 2019, women are still fighting against sexism and inequality.”
In our call for entries brief we said: Gender inequality still lingers unchallenged: it’s one of those things that are hard to see precisely because they are right in front of our eyes.
Our next Gender Equality poster exhibition will take place in Luanda, Angola during 10 days in September. We keep you posted!

Happy Women’s Day!
“Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change”
At a time when innovation is dominant, shaping and changing the way people live in every part of the world, we have to be intentional about its use to positively impact the lives of women and girls. That means making sure they are not only consumers of innovation, but take their place as innovators. With their engagement, both design and execution of solutions can address the unique needs of women and girls, from the creation of decent work to delivery of products, services and infrastructure for women in all walks of life.
This is Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women statement.
We would like to urge everyone to work hard for a world in which women and girls have equal opportunities and rights! This has to happen now! We all should ask our governments to make commitments that will close the gender equality gap.
In 2019, poster for tomorrow is encouraging everyone to get involved setting up exhibitions.
From March 8th and during 30 days several poster exhibitions are taking place across the world. An open air exhibition of Gender Equality edition in partnership with Yves Robert Youth Hostel is also held in Paris.

Karachi seminar: Perspectives on architecture, design, and art
“you don’t need to be a great designer to make a poster. You have to have a great idea and the motivation.”

The event brought together a local and international spectrum of visionaries, each of whom work through their own regional lens with an eye for transnational understanding and collaboration.

It's poster for tomorrow 10th anniversary! We are invited to a large poster exhibition of our last 10 years retrospective poster exhibition. The opening is on Friday 18th starting with a conference-debate, interviews and a lot more.
The last day of the exhibition will be on Friday 25th.

But for now, Hervé Matine is taking part of the ADA- ARCHITECTURE DESIGN ART jury.
This jury session is taking place at the very amazing Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture.

It's a great honor for us to share these few lines about the building:
Know as Nusserwanjee Building, a 100 years old building, was relocated from old Kharadar area to IVS campus. It is the biggest relocation project of its kind in subcontinent and a pride for IVS as well as for the City of Karachi. Being an old building and near to the harsh sea environment, Nusserwanjee requires continuous upkeep, maintenance and care to prevent it from deterioration and damages caused by the sea.
The Project is unique in the architectural history of the subcontinent.
It has been relocated, stone by stone, to become a part of the IVS campus. A monumental undertaking, all 25,000 sq. ft. of the building has been transported to a beautiful new site by the sea. Each of its 26,000 stones is rich in history and beauty, and each is being preserved for future generations to come.

UDGBA - Unión de diseñadores gráficos de Buenos Aires

Hola colega!

Tenemos el orgullo de invitarte a la inauguración de 50 AFICHES EN EL PARQUE, exposición internacional de afiches.

La muestra One for all, all for one!
