Fire 650 Parliament St. Toronto "NEED HELP"'!!!

Offers of accommodation remain most critical need for displaced residents of 650 Parliament St.

The displaced residents from the August 21 fire at 650 Parliament St. are in need of temporary housing accommodations while their building undergoes repairs. The private property management company is working as quickly as they can to restore the building however the current estimate for residents to get back to their units is six weeks for the North building and up to 16 weeks for the South building.

The property company has advised that some tenants may exercise their option to break their lease and be interested in new permanent housing arrangements. Any available rental units are urgently needed.

WoodGreen, one of the largest social service agencies in Toronto, has made their H.O.M.E portal available to allow donors to post available housing, goods and services to help the displaced residents. Visit to post an offer. Listings can also be taken via or 416-392-3959.

Some registrants may be returning to the reception centre at the Regent Park Community Centre today as their hotel rooms are previously booked. Emergency shelter provisions will continue to be made available at the Regent Park and Wellesley Community Centres as required. The Red Cross is on-site at the Wellesley Community Centre for residents to register (if they have not done so already) and receive food vouchers and tokens.

The City will continue to work with Wellesley Parliament Square Property Management (WPSQ) to seek out short- and long-term accommodations for the residents.

WPSQ has assumed responsibility for the communication to displaced residents and for coordination of services. Contact the 650 Parliament Helpline at 647-760-7339, on the web at and via @650parliament.

The City of Toronto thanks the residents, businesses and agencies that continue to answer Mayor Tory's appeal for donations for the 650 Parliament St. residents. As of noon on August 31, the following donations have been received:
• $96,000 through the Red Cross
