Circle of Care

Circle of Care We help people live healthier, happier and longer lives at home. Circle of Care provides a broad range of home health and community support service options to improve well-being, independence and quality of life.

Circle of Care has a proud, successful history. We have been serving the Toronto area since 1974. It all began in 1970, when Circle of Care was launched as a demonstration project called Coordinated Services to Jewish Elderly, under auspices of the Toronto Jewish Welfare Fund (now the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto). We have gone through a few name changes over the years to reflect our expanded mandate. We now serve individuals of many faiths and cultures, and our clients include people of all ages. We have grown to 525 staff members serving more than 7000 people a year. Circle of Care began as a small agency in a house on Baycrest Avenue and is now a large multi-service organization. We are one of the very few agencies in Ontario that has contracts with Community Care Access Centres, and also provides community support services. This means the range of services that we can offer clients is vast and meets their many needs. We receive funding from many sources, including:
•4 Community Care Access Centres (Central; Toronto Central; Central East; Central West)
•The Central Local Health Integration Network (LHIN)
•The City of Toronto
•United Way Toronto
•UJA Federation of Greater Toronto
•The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany

As part of Circle of Care’s emphasis on quality and service excellence, we have memberships in, and play a leadership role in a number of associations, including:
•Ontario Home Care Association
•Canadian Home Care Association
•Ontario Caregiver Coalition
•Hospice Palliative Care Ontario
•Toronto Central Palliative Care Network

Celebrating the Diversity of Nursing Roles in Health Care | Circle of Care

Our nurses at Circle of Care are perhaps not what you think of when you picture the word "nurse". They don't work in a hospital setting, providing hands-on care. They are Client Services Supervisors (CSSs) who ensures the health and safety of their clients are met in all areas. “Our CSSs continue to practice a major nursing skill which is clinical assessments. They use this information to create individualized care and support plans for each and every one of their clients to ensure all their clients’ needs are met," says Reeshma H., Professional Practice Lead of the CSS team.

Volunteering in Hospice Care during the Pandemic | Circle of Care

Bianca knew for a while that she wanted to volunteer for a Hospice program. But, it wasn’t until recently that she became a Circle of Care volunteer.

Through her experience, she has become so inspired and grateful, and she plans to continue volunteering in Hospice care indefinitely. “I just admire them because they’re able to get past their terminal diagnosis and still enjoy life and still see the value of life. It makes me look at my own life differently.”

Dear Sirs! My parents are 88 years old till 120. They are eligible for Circle of Care cervices as Holocaust survivors since 2016. They are supposed to get meals, home care and transportation thanks God. Unfortunately kosher meals are so horrible, no one alive can eat it. My Parents have dismiss them. Home care personal was very nice, but also it was a problem for my Parents because different ladies used to came, and almost everyone doesn't speak their language. I understand your difficulties in these time, but I'm kindly asking you to organize one or two Russian speaking ladies weekly to help to my Parents in their home. I'd be thankful to you very much. Best regards.
Hello! My Parents are participating in Holocaust program need your help asap Please.

Hi there! I wanted to recommend an AMAZING Israeli film premiering at TIFF next week, AFRICA. Director Oren Gerner ponders aging and family in a time of transition in this inventive quasi-factual feature about an elderly man (played by Gerner’s father) seeking purpose and meaning as the years tick by. It's a terrific meditation on aging and getting older, check it out!

Hi Circle of Care Jewish group, This is Samson Lee from Thornhill, Ontario, Canada,. How are you today? This was my 13th running race. Guess what? I have burned 600 calories in the total running distance of 10.0 km from outdoors today. My weight is now 129 lbs and my height is now 5 feet and 8 inches because of eating and drinking. I am still tall and my body is still fit without losing or gaining weight because of eating a lot of healthy foods. On Sunday, May 13th, 2018 in the morning from 7:43 am to 8:20 am, I did running (10.0 km) in 37 minutes and 0 seconds without stopping in the Sporting Life 10km running race in Downtown Toronto. My average running speed in the Sporting Life 10km running race in Downtown Toronto was 16.21 km/h – 10.07 mp/h without stopping. Guess what?, this was my 1st highest new running speed record. The place I got in the Sporting Life 10km running race in Downtown Toronto was 90th place out of 17,814 people.
