For the past 30 years, we have provided free services to our clients to ensure their safety, enhance their quality of life, and enable them to continue to live independently in their own homes. We accomplish this through several programs, including friendly visiting, medical and shopping companion services, and socialization groups. These services are provided entirely through the committed efforts of our trained volunteers who enable isolated seniors and adults with disabilities to attain a sense of dignity, safety and well being. We recruit, screen, train, and match volunteers with clients for all of our programs.

SENIORS NEED YOUR HELP MORE THAN EVER | Imagine being elderly and living alone, with no family or support network. Imagine the feelings of isolation and loneliness. Sadly, this was the plight of 1 in 4 Canadian seniors BEFORE the pandemic. Imagine how much worse it is for them now.

Your donation this Christmas will help support our seasonal and core programs throughout the year. We aim to provide our community's seniors with iPads so they can maintain social connections and participate in educational sessions and social activities.

Keeping our seniors safe from Covid-19

Mortality for COVID-19 virus gets higher with age mainly because age is a proxy for other conditions such as Diabetes Mellitus (that compromises one’s immune system), respiratory diseases and heart disease. Data from China shows that more than 80% of those who died were aged over 60 years. Social distancing must be practiced and any relative, family member or friend who comes into contact with older individuals must make sure that they are not putting them at risk.

Seniors are the most vulnerable to coronavirus and we must protect them.
