Friday, October 1st, is National Seniors Day and the International Day of Older Persons. This day is a time to celebrate and acknowledge the lifelong contributions our seniors and elders have made (and continue to make) to their communities.

On this National Seniors Day, we at North Cariboo Seniors’ Council would also like to recognize the strength and resilience of the seniors we serve.

#NationalSeniorsDay #InternationalDayofOlderPersons

We would like to encourage you to read our Norrh Cariboo Senior Housing Gap Analysis and get out and support a senior in your life with a call, picture, or visit.

As we were going down the 2020 year we’re reflecting on what a year it’s been… The council was just newly formed and we set out to fill in those gaps that were identified by the city survey age friendly imitative. With the help of the Hard work, perseverance and a very interactive busy/forward thinking city counsellor Mitch Vik.... we hit the ground running❗️ some may not know that Quesnel taxi fares are the highest in the province… So we are pleased to announce that we just got a grant from the United Way and are going to launch the taxi voucher program to help needy seniors navigate cold weather... lack of bus service ( or being able to avoid riding public transportation due to health concerns ) and the challenges this all brings . If you know of a senior that would qualify plz have them call the office at 2509910510
