Karan Moore told me she posted on our club FB page... but it did not appear as 'public'... so am cutting and pasting here... with her comments. Sharing for all to see!

I would like to take a moment to extend my sincere thanks to all involved in this past weekend's Pot O Gold Show!!! What a fabulous event, and I am sure the number of entries exceeded everyone's expectations! First, a huge thank-you to all the entrants , many of whom travelled considerable distances to participate. The caliber of horses, riders and drivers continues to impress! I would like to thank-you all from the bottom of my heart for your congeniality, patience and sportsmanship in the light of a longish day! Kudos to all of you for bringing the best out in your horses and especially kudos to our junior riders who made an excellent showing this year.I would like to note how well some of the young ladies continue to grow and progress in their skills, and I was so pleased to see your growth! MANY thanks to a small but spectacular core group of volunteers who perservered through technical glitches, gate holds and a long day. YOU ladies rock. It wasn't for volunteers, we could not enjoy events such as these. Most importantly though, A three star yahoo to Nancy Roman and her show Committee. These folks put forth a super human effort and Nancy is the everyready bunny of the show, being in numerous places, facilitating everyone's needs and making things run seamlessly. I can't say enough about how amazing her abilities are to present a show of this size, caliber and diversity. The Pot O Gold show is just that, a rare gem in the Okanagan that offers something for virtually everyone and creattes lifetime memories for Equestrians! I will see y'all next year with my horses! Thank-you one and all, it was a privilege to be involved in this wonderful show. Happy Trails to you all, kindest regards, Karan Moore

UPCOMING MEETING. We welcome members and new members to our next meeting. Saturday, April 14th at the Riverfront Pub in Grindrod for 11 am. Anyone interested to join our club (or see what we are all about) is welcome to attend. We will order lunch off the menu. Will be discussing our recent successful tack sale and our upcoming Pot O Gold (Open) Show on June 23rd; as well as other ideas for events, etc. Come on out... happy to see you!

Congratulations ABBY!!!

A HUGE THANK YOU to the volunteers yesterday, helping to haul the tables for our TACK SALE, and setting them up inside the curling club. THANKS TO... Greg, Brenda, Lorne, Sherry, Dianne, Louise, Tom, Abby, Cari, Deb,and Karen. We are going to need help Saturday after the event, washing down 65 tables and stacking against the wall (for next event), and sweeping the floor, and cleaning the washrooms (and whatever else we dirty up!). Remember VENDORS... to bring a chair! TACK SALE Saturday March 31st, from 10 am to 3 pm, at Armstrong Curling Club (at fairgrounds). Set up starts at 8:30 am and doors open at 10 am. See you then!

POT O GOLD Show date CONFIRMED for Saturday June 23, 2018 at the Armstrong Agriplex (indoors), with returning judge Karan Moore (we like her, she likes us!). Save the date. Prize list will be out later.

MEMBERS and interested parties... our BCIMHC Annual General Meeting will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 (not Jan 20 as originally planned). Will take place at the Anchor Inn Pub in Armstrong (upstairs, youth welcome), starting at 11:30 am. Will order lunch, then have BC/Yukon Zone AGM, then our club AGM after that. And will end with a general club meeting to finalize events, dates, etc. All welcome to attend. Please consider joining our small, but friendly (and active) club. We are a fun group... really!

Can I ask people what pedigree program they use for their breeding program? I use Breeders.net for my dogs - and they have a horse one - but I'm not happy with the customer service or with the limitations of what you can print.

Our next meeting is this Saturday Oct 28th at 11:30 am at the Jade Buffet in Salmon Arm.

We should do this with our Canadian members!

The OKC Live Feed is free again this year thanks to the generosity of its sponsors. Please spread the word and promote this as it is a great showcase of our breed. :-)

Sharing... if anyone can help!

Please contact Joan McFadden if you can help. She is located in Saskatchewan.

Thanks Peter!

I want to publicly thank Gunther & Dagmar Funk for donating 2 tons of hay to the Sageview ranch for their many fire evacuees - my husband Jim is on his way there with the hay right now! Makes me choke up with pride that there are such kind, selfless people in the world who step up to the plate when there are animals and people in need! 😊

SO MUCH THANKS!!!! Everyone who participated in our Pot O Gold Show today THANK YOU. This is a quickie... will have more news and photos later... before I forget... a black 'McCloudveil' hoodie was left at food concession (I think). I do have it. I have to give a HUGE thanks to our volunteers today (my friends)... they stuck it out ALL DAY, and I heard great things of them all... so thank you to announcer Christine Schwartz, ribbons & money gal Lynn Higginbotham, and ring steward Dianne McCulloch... you all were AWESOME... am so appreciative! And to our club member volunteers, Debbie & Jim Miyash*ta for the food concession (great job and variety - you're hired for next year), Laurie Lyons for smooth 'entries' (gets easier each year... I think)... and our club president Gunther Funk (for harrowing the ring) and his lovely wife Dagmar for being there and helping out when needed! And we had two high school students (Jaden and Chelsie) helping out for trail course, and wherever else). So appreciative of you all! And thank you to our two judges: Karan Moore (main judge) and Shari Gurney Galbraith (trail judge) for taking their time to come out to our show - much appreciated. After the show, Karan told a few of us... we should be proud of the entries today... and what we offer as an open show... most shows (around the province) do not get as many entries as we did today... WOW!!! THANK YOU AGAIN. More to come.... gotta go relax now. So proud of you all... THANK YOU!

Could you please post this ad on your site for me? I am in search of a kid friendly Morgan for our family. We lost our beautiful old Morgan last fall at the age of 28. Our barn is very quiet without his presence. Prefer no taller than 15 hands and between 5 and 15 years old. Love attention (what Morgan doesn't) and be respectful of little people. Thank you and happy riding!

MEETING REMINDER: Saturday, April 8th at Yan's Chinese Restaurant in Salmon Arm, 11 am. Order lunch off the menu. Anyone interested in Morgan horses is welcome to join us. We are a fun group!!!
