Sandra generously donated some product for the furs- i tried it! I love it!! I love this product and will be showcasing this starter kit. If you have decided to change your products. Contact Sandra Kozij to change your life!! Many of the products we use in our home can be replaced. Must be replaced With much safer healthier alternatives, that clean just as well ,if not better. I personally prefer the smell of thieves. to any toxic cleaner. I found personally the laundry soap was the hardest for me to get behind- because I’m used to pouring a cup -a full cup.of toxic sledge into the wash- So what I did was create a salt and water mixture that I used in conjunction with the laundry soap and it just gives me that thought that I’m using a full cup. well I am ,of salt water. I love that.

Kitty looking for his people in Grande Prairie Alberta

Update: owners found!

Did you know that the City of Grande Prairie has a bylaw that states cats cannot roam freely at large? Cats should be treated the same as dogs in the sense that they must stay on their property if not container/controlled (leash training a cat IS possible!) Roger Rabbit was brought in to us this week after neighbours were dealing with him being a nuisance around the neighbourhood all summer. They understand Roger is just a cat doing cat things, however when they were unable to find owners to speak with, they humanely trapped him in the area of 109ave and 92 St. Roger is a little confused about his new surroundings but in good spirits (despite those eyes 🥺). If there is someone looking for Roger please contact us. We would love to see him go home to his people who may have a new understanding of what Roger is doing in his alone time and build him a catio to do cat things in ❤️

Did I say overwhelming? Look - Another puppy. And I saw a post about a white injured dog in another community- I haven’t been asked to help yet- but if the dog isn’t claimed- I’m sure I’ll need to. On my way to get this pup- hopefully something comes thru for some of the 25 waiting this weekend.

I am overwhelmed - UPDATE : 8 more puppies since I first posted. so many animals require assistance. currently there are more than 10 cats 12 puppies -three found at the dump that have mange. Along with an injured cat with a hurt leg. It will cost at least $100 -150$ if I get pain meds- which he probably needs - to have the injured cat assessed to find out what he will need - hopefully find him a rescue to intake- but so far/ no placements. Everyone’s full in their areas. it looks like a leg issue will know more as soon as we can raise funds to get him to the vet. Can you donate to his exam?

This is what a malnourished pup looks like- these pups are the same age ,same litter. one was just removed way too soon. kept away from regular feeding- this is why, When I bring puppies in I feed them the best food I possibly can . they are starved. it is very expensive. To feed a puppy- A can of formula that lasts less than a full day- is 35$ today we bought raw hamburger 30$ raw pork 30$ raw chicken. 59$ Canned milk 35$ and ingredients fir homemade milk- canned milk , eggs , yogurt, syrup , coconut oil , i’m giving these dogs the best possible chance I can with the best food I can possibly feed them. if I can’t do that I see no point in rescuing them.

It has been a p**p show- it always is. I Was finally able to close my eyes around 1 am- at 3:30-5:30 we were up to feed n p**p n clean kennel - I’m going back to bed. Long day driving tomoro. Hopefully we can raise the funds needed. I do not adopt out all the pups I rescue- which means no funds coming in. Unless I put on a fundraisers, which is so much time , I simply don’t have it in me anymore- I run mostly by donations. Unless I can adopt out- And when I’m too tired to even seek those, where does that leave us?
Occasionally we adopt out- but with no homes and no fosters- waiting. we are unable. I’ve said it before 100 times, I can’t keep reaching - but I do, 😞 I wish —- I could. Day by day it seems to be getting more bleak-. It’s so hard to turn animals away. I did that today. How do I keep on rescuing? I’ll sleep on it, tomoro is a new day. Thank you creator for bringing these pups to me.

Helping people. That’s what I’ve always wanted to do. Through animal rescue I was giving to my community. Of All the expenses of rescue. The building was the biggest - over 1500$ a month to maintain, along with garbage and snow removal in winter. It is too much to take on alone, with no local support or volunteer base: so with much sadness, we have decided to close the building. It has taken me a long time to admit this - I’ve held on much longer than I had planned. Promises of being paid to do rescue. had me believing I could. Maintain it. The money never came. I was never paid as I was promised. So I give up. I can’t make it work- Cleaning out the rescue building, it’s the only way to keep up financially, I cannot maintain it. It is taking too much. The decision was made to give up the facility. It was hard to accept. I really didn’t want to. But going deeper into debt every month- I can’t keep doing it. I’m still rescuing, networking, helping people with dog food, cat food, trying to find Intaking rescues. As I have always done, I don’t need a building for that..I love dogs too much to not do anything, So I’m just changing the way I’m doing it. Again, isn’t that what life is about? Finding out what works for me- Getting it done in a way I can. Any way I can-
Can anyone donate to garbage removal? And a move out cleanup of the building?

Is there a website to see all the adoptable animals?
Do you plan to provide an update on the animal abuse situation in John D'Or Prairie that I read about on Facebook? I read you were trying to rescue the dog(s) involved. I and countless other readers would appreciate news. Our hearts are breaking thinking of this situation. Thank you.
Hi there. We were in touch regarding donations of pet supplies ... clean and disinfected toys, leashes, harnesses. Are you still interested? We are in Edmonton. We have messaged and sent a text as well.
See our post about this amazing rescue and please join #dogloversunite 🐾
Do not send money to this rescue... she keeps the money for herself rather then give it to the proper people that cared for the dog.. Spud is not Spud his name is Diego and she only took the pup to Roxanne Lefebvre and she gave her 80 for helping transport the dog never was in her rescue so please people who sent donations got scammed and need to report her as soon as possible.. SHAME ON YOU FOR BEING GREEDY QND WANTING MONEY FOR URSELF....
This woman is taking donations for a dog that isnt even with her.. the dog she calls "spud" is actually DIEGO and hes not at her rescue... he is at another rescue so please CAUTION and call the Grimshaw Vet Clinic for conformation about this dog!!! She's a bad LIAR
hello, our internet is not working well enough to use the message box. We have been missing our Scotch Collie since June 27 when she ran away in a thunder storm. She looks like Lassie. She was wearing a rolled leather collar that said her name (FANCY) and our phone number on it. She is a spayed female. Could she be the dog you found at 9 mile road? Thank you
Robin Bellerose, I hope this is ok to post....sorry everyone it’s a little long. Good morning everyone! My name’s Candi & I met Robin last fall when I did my first rescue transfer for her. Since then, I’ve done a couple of more transfers. I know first hand how expensive transports can be; I’ve paid for all of the expenses except one, out of my own pocket. Unfortunately, fuel wasn’t as cheap then as it is now. Since I can’t afford to donate as often as I’d like, I’ve come up with an idea that I’d like to share with you & I hope you’ll help me out. I’m a Norwex Consultant & I would love to help Robin by having a party in her name. Now I can’t get into all of the details on a public page because of Norwex’s compliance policy but please message me for the specifics or comment “add me” or “I’m in” in the comment section below. What I would do is set up an event & invite everyone that’s interested. I’ll talk about the products, share some cleaning tips, answer questions etc. All of the orders collected would then go towards Robin’s party sales so she receives the host incentives. BUT on top of that, once the party is closed I would like to donate a portion of my commission towards the rescue to help Robin financially. Like I said because of compliance, I can’t say too much but if I get enough interest (minimum 3 people), I will ‘disclose’ the rest of the details on the event page. I hope some of you will help me, help her. I know it might not sound like a lot to some people but at the moment it’s the best I can do. Robin can then use the products she receives to clean & maintain the rescue which of course is better for her & the animals than harmful chemicals. Thank you for taking the time to read my idea. I really hope a lot of you will take me up on my offer so Robin can continue helping the voiceless fur babies. Have a great weekend & stay safe!
Hey all you awesome animal lovers! If you are a WILLING transport for ANY amount of distance between HIGH LEVEL and EDMONTON please comment below. The more transporters there is the more likelihood of more animals being rescued. I have spoken with Robin about this post and she has said it is ok. Please everyone let's help her help them. I live by millet and can meet people to take to the final destination.
Good morning NBAR, I am just sending a reminder from Edm ACC invitation for Rescue's, Shelters, Foster's and their volunteers for information and tools in dealing with compassion fatigue. I apologize that my reminder is so close to Saturday's Webinar. There was 150 tickets, and to date they've had cancellations due to travel conditions. At this time they are not streaming the event online for those far from Edmonton although they may be open to reoffering if there's large groups of people interested in the future. Sue. Lost Dog E'searcher Central and Northern Ab. #ESUA I have reserved 6 tix to ensure that first responders like yourselves are able to attend. I will be bringing them to the front door to give to anyone unable to reserve in time. Just ask for Sue Hart if you cannot see me there. :) --------- Compassion Fatigue 101 by Animal Care & Control Centre Free DATE AND TIME Sat, December 8, 2018 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM MST LOCATION Clareview Community Recreation Centre Multi Purpose Room 4 3804 139 Avenue Northwest Edmonton, AB T5Y 3G4 DESCRIPTION (This presentation qualifies for 1.5 continued education credits for those medical participants licensed under the AbVMA) December in Edmonton brings an internal struggle to help animals through their owner's economic difficulties and dropping winter temperatures while working through burn out of staff, volunteers and ourselves. We have spent the year giving to those in need and rarely took any time for ourselves. We are now pledged with guilt, are running on empty and missing important moments in the lives of our loved ones. Not only does this affect us physically but it also takes a toll on us psychologically. Believe it or not, there are strategies to help with these over-whelming feelings while loving ourselves and still helping the animals who need us. As a valued animal welfare organization, Animal Care & Control Centre would like to invite you, your volunteers, co-workers and family to a free webinar on Compassion Fatigue. Jessica Dolce a Certified Compassion Fatigue Educator, will lead us through an afternoon of personal exploration as we learn to recognize signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue. Jessica is an adjunct faculty member at the Maddie’s® Shelter Medicine Program at the University of Florida and her project, Dogs In Need Of Space, provides practical, emotional support to dog owners and animal care professionals around the world. Jessica earned her Master of Science in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Southern Maine and holds certificates in mindfulness facilitation and positive psychology coaching. This 90 minute WEBINAR will look at understanding and managing compassion fatigue in animal welfare work and will help you to: Define compassion fatigue (CF), burnout, and compassion satisfaction Identify individual symptoms of CF in yourself and others Understand the various factors that contribute to compassion fatigue Become familiar with strategies to help you manage compassion fatigue such as: stress management, self care practices, and creating effective wellness goals Tips to help management and collaborate to create a healthier teams Agenda: Light snacks and drinks will be provided Door prizes will be awarded 1:30 - 2:00 Register, socialize and message from ACCC 2:00 - 3:30 Compassion Fatigue 101 Webinar taught by Jessica Dolce Please feel free to share this invite will all members of your team as this is invaluable information for self care, volunteer appreciation and an effective way to help improve morale.

RESCUE MISSION OVER FINALLY Can't thank everyone enough for all the help in catching these two. About 10 days ago these little girls were dumped off on the husky road to fend for themselves. The two are at a foster home here in Rainbow Lake and will remain there until they take the trip to High Level to get checked over by the veternarian. There will be a GO FUND ME PAGE setup soon for anyone wanting to donate to this cause. SPECIAL thank yous go out to ROBYN AND DAN from NEW BEGININGS in High Level PENNY MURRAY, BLUEWAVE ENERGY, HUSKY COMET, TOWN OF RAINBOW LAKE (you people are amazing) Pstor Rick White without his help this could not have been possibly, and anyone and everyone who helped us keep track of these two.
